Brookville police thank Good Samaritans who helped a stranger in a mental health crisis
BROOKVILLE, Pa. (WTAJ) — Brookville police were called for a mental health crisis Tuesday morning and are now thanking the Good Samaritans who assisted them and the man in need of help.
Brookville Police Chief Vince Markle said that officers were called to the area of East Main Street/SR 322 at 8:26 a.m. May 13. At the scene, officers found a man thrashing and rolling around, thinking he was on fire.
Several community members stopped to assist Brookville Police and Jefferson County EMS with the man, according to Markle's release.
Brookville Police and Chief Markle want to thank those who assisted with the man who was in desperate need of medical treatment.
This is just one example of the awesome community we have, seeing people willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Again, I want to thank everyone!
Brookville Police Chief Vince MarkleMarkle added that the man was safely taken to Penn Highlands Brookville, where he was able to receive medical help.
