Goat on the run causes ruckus south of Ottawa
There's something about an escaped goat that brings out the bad puns in everyone, including hardened provincial police officers.

The case of the wandering goat began Wednesday night, when police started to receive reports about a goat on the loose in the Grenville area near highways 416 and 401 near the U.S. border, south of Ottawa.

'We're not kidding you!' police said on X, formerly Twitter. The X message contained a wealth of wordplay, puns and double-entendres.

'By chance, a member of the public passing by had another goat with them and some food,' the officers said.

They were able to build a rapport with the animal — renamed as 'Vincent Van Goat,' or Vinny for short — and moved in close enough to catch him safely.
