In an interview, according to a report by she said, 'When we were on our honeymoon, Sanjay had quoted my price with his friends. He even forced me to spend a night with his friends. Sanjay used to hit me a lot and I used to hide the wounds by applying makeup on my face. When things went out of control, I had no option left but to file a police complaint.' Another media report also claims that Sunjay used to discuss Karisma's expenses with her brother. With more time passing, Karisma realised that Kapur only tied the knot with her because she was one of the top actresses of that time, and this would also bring attention to him. Karisma revealed that his hidden agenda was to showcase her as a trophy wife within his Delhi social circle, where he was trying to establish his prominence at the time. Soon, things started to get violent too. Without taking it anymore, Karisma filed a complaint against her in-laws and moved out of that marriage 11 years later. The two were together from 2003 to 2016. The couple shares two children, Samaira Kapoor and Kiaan Raj Kapoor. Karisma Kapoor was granted custody of both, and the trio now resides in Mumbai. After divorce with Karisma, Sunjay married Priya Sachdev and they are parents to a son.
