Ahmedabad plane crash: Seven bodies cremated in Diu, two yet to arrive
In ambulances escorted by police vehicles, seven bodies of the June 12 Ahmedabad plane crash victims reached Diu on Wednesday. The victims — all from Diu — included Ajaykumar Bhalaiya, the younger brother of the sole survivor of the crash, Viswashkumar Ramesh Bhalaiya.
Of these seven, while Ajay and two more were British nationals, two were Portuguese and two Indians. A total 14 people from Diu died in the plane crash and the bodies of 12 of them have so far reached their native place.
After the seven bodies arrived on Wednesday afternoon, they were put to rest at different crematoriums. These seven were identified as Aadiv Girish, Takashvi Girish, Ajaykumar Bhalaiya, Manish Babu, Faizan Rafik, Hemaxi Shantilal and Vanita Kana.
Viswaskumar also reached his native village after being discharged from the hospital on Tuesday night. He met his family members, who had flown from London to Diu a couple of days ago.
