Vita Nova Village gets approval from Joplin Planning and Zoning committee
JOPLIN, Mo. — Transitional housing for Joplin's homeless population is one step closer to reality. At a meeting this afternoon, the Joplin Planning and Zoning committee gave approval to 'Vita Nova Village', a project bringing up to 20 tiny homes to a plot of land at 12th and South Byers. PREVIOUS: Tiny home project to support the homeless breaks ground in Joplin Vita Nova is a non-profit, focused on providing the homeless a private living space while assisting with employment and education, and, eventually, a home of their own. President Troy Dunlap says this is a way to benefit the entire community. 'It's a way to provide into the community, to support the homeless, to get them off the streets, as much as we can, and just, you know, help each other out,' said Troy Dunlap, Vita Nova Village President.
