Gabbi Garcia shares about her and BF Khalil Ramos' dynamics as artists
Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos have been together for eight years, but their dynamics and process as artists are far different. In "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday, the Kapuso It Girl shared that she makes Khalil watch all of her acting and hosting projects. "I make him comment, likewise sa 'kin din, ganun din ko sa kaniya, and you know what I discovered is we are two very different artists," she said. According to Gabbi, Khalil is the type of artist who needs to prepare while she loves working under pressure. "His process is different, my process is different. Ako, I work well under pressure, he can't. He prepares, he has to have a certain time to prepare, ako, I can function under pressure," she said. She added that she likes working under pressure because she gets to troubleshoot on the spot. Gabbi also shared on Friday that she and Khalil are open to talking about marriage. The Kapuso couple celebrated their eighth anniversary in February. "Nasa era kami ngayon puro kasal ng kaibigan pinupuntahan namin, may iilan lang na binyag, pero mostly like engagement parties, kasal, so nasa era rin kami ng mga friends namin na ganun 'yung season," she said. Gabbi renewed her contract with GMA Network on Friday. Gabbi Garcia says joining Miss Universe PH not the smartest thing to do right now for her
Gabbi Garcia has been open about entering the world of beauty pageants through Miss Universe Philippines, but she thinks that now is not the right time to do so. In Friday's 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,' the Sparkle star said that her current career commitments present significant hurdles to going after this goal. 'I'm turning 27 this year so it would have been the perfect time to join, right? Pero nga kasi, I've been saying I've been open about this, there are a lot of factors to consider if I could join or not,' Gabbi said. Foremost among these factors are her existing contracts and brand endorsements. 'You know, relationships with brands na baka hindi ma-i-push kung sumali ako because I would have to drop everything or pause everything. [In] short, I would be jobless for maybe a year or two if I continue to join. So I don't think it's the smartest thing to do right now,' she said. The actress and host is aware that many people are urging her to compete, believing that the time is now. 'Kung ako lang talaga and wala akong iba i-sa-sacrifice, I would have joined. Maybe I could have tried and tried already until I reached the crown, right? But as of now, you know, there are different priorities that I have to weigh as well now that I'm in the industry for 11 years. So until now it's still an unanswered thing in my head,' she said. While her immediate focus is on her current career path and commitments, Gabbi made it clear that she is not entirely closing the door on the possibility of competing in the future. 'May mga bagay na kahit na gustong-gusto natin para sa sarili natin, sinasabi na ni Lord at sinasabi ng destiny na hindi siya muna para sa 'yo. So, I'm not closing my doors, definitely. I'm still open. But as of now, I have different things to prioritize,' she said. In 2020, Gabbi revealed that joining a beauty pageant was her childhood dream. Four years later, there were rumors that she was joining Miss Universe Philippines 2024, but while she was flattered, she said that it was not true. Gabbi Garcia looks back on audition rejections, gives advice to aspiring artists
Gabbi Garcia, now an established actress and host, is no stranger to rejection and auditions from when she was starting in her career. In an interview with GMA News Online on Friday, the Kapuso It Girl recalled a project she had auditioned for. 'I did the final callbacks. I lined up. Tapos nakita ko na lang, napapalabas na siya tapos wala ako,' she said. However, despite the rejections, Gabbi said these served as her motivation to keep pursuing a career in the arts. 'I'm grateful kasi hindi siya ever naging malalim na hugot sa 'kin because my parents would always tell me, 'It's okay. It just means it's not yet your time,'' she said. Gabbi also shared that her parents were supportive of her career; her dad Vince would drive her to auditions and her mom Tes would line up with her. 'So, it wasn't really such a traumatic experience for me. It's really more like fuel na alam ko my time will come soon. I believe that everything is planned and everything is destined," she said. 'Ang daming sacrifices just to support me with whatever I'm doing," she added. During her GMA Network contract signing on Friday, Gabbi said that the network was 'one of the few ones who embraced me, who welcomed me, who accepted me, and who saw something in me.' With these experiences under her belt, Gabbi now has these words of wisdom for aspiring artists who have also faced rejection. 'Kung para sa 'yo, para sa 'yo. Your time will come soon as long as you work hard for it,' Gabbi said. 'Nothing happens instantly. Everything requires hard work. So, as long as you're passionate and you really wanna do what you wanna do, be patient and just go for it.' Gabbi currently stars in GMA's first Viu Original series, 'Slay.' The actress has also been praised for her hosting skills. She is one of the hosts of 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition Collab" and hosted Miss Universe Philippines 2025 in early May.
