Van failed to stop after crashing into dad with six-month-old
The driver of a van failed to stop after mounting the pavement and "smashing" into a dad and his family. Danny England was out on a walk with his partner and six-month-old baby when the incident happened on April 29. It took place just before 8pm on Hargham Road, Attleborough, around 30 metres from New Road. READ MORE: Mr England said: "The van came out of nowhere and smashed into me, taking me to the ground. "The bang was so loud a chap ran out of his house as he thought two cars had crashed." The road Mr England and his family were on has a 30mph speed limit but the driver was "going a lot faster". Mr England was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries but currently has lost use of his arm. The van failed to stop after hitting the man (Image: Supplied) "The van knew it had hit me as afterwards it increased in speed and disappeared up the road. "My whole family could have been wiped out because of some idiot," he added. Police are appealing for anyone who may have dash-cam footage or information about the incident, it is suspected the white van may be a Vivaro or Primastar. Van driver repeatedly rammed police car during overnight chase
A man has been given a suspended jail sentence and banned from driving for two years after repeatedly ramming a police car during a Bamsey, 26, of Tudor Road, Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday to 16 months in prison for dangerous driving and a string of other was also given a four-month sentence for handling stolen goods, with both of the consecutive sentences suspended for two incident happened while Lincolnshire Police was chasing two vans on the A52 at Swaton, near Sleaford. Bamsey pleaded guilty to failing to stop, handling stolen goods, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, causing more than £10,000-worth of damage to a police car, dangerous driving and using false Chris Windsor-Beck, from Lincolnshire Police, said: "This shows our officers are on patrol every day and night all year round – putting themselves in danger to keep people and property safe."
