Viral: Indian baraat of 400 'shut down' Wall Street

Image credits: X/@VividInsaan New York City is one of the most 'dreamt-about' and 'worked hard for' cities in the US. With a backdrop of thousands of skyscrapers and streets filled with people who have multiple destinations in mind, the city never sleeps. While you might find the best café and corporate in NYC, what you will definitely struggle to find is space, on the roads and in the apartments. Recently, the streets of the New York Stock Exchange were blocked by a 400-person baraat that could be seen grooving on a mix of pop and Bollywood tunes. The baraat, which is a groom's procession moving towards the wedding venue, was filled with people dressed in Indian attires and dancing to the beats of the DJ in the streets of Lower Manhattan. The scene transformed one of the most professional scapes of the city into a wedding dance arena which shocked many on the Internet. "We shut down Wall Street for a 400-person baraat - who would've ever thought?!" wrote DJ AJ, who performed at the event. "A once-in-a-lifetime kind of magic," he added. Image credits: Instagram/Devarshi Shah The video shared by the DJ, which has gone viral all over the Internet shows people dancing around the bride and groom who are dressed in a red and beige outfit. The backdrop of the towering skyscrapers of the New York Stock Exchange added a surreal aura to the video as it's not every day you see a baraat this big grooving on the streets of New York. In another video shared by Instagram influencer and Gujarati actor Devarshi Shah , the groom can be seen dancing in a car surrounded by his American groomsmen all dressed in pink and white ethnic ensembles. The influencer himself was also a part of the baraat and could be seen dancing with people. "What a surreal afternoon. Wall Street shut down for the baraat and seeing everyone dance in their full glory was a sight to behold! To celebrating love, today & forever!" captioned the influencer. People across the globe were surprised by the shocking video of an Indian baraat taking over Wall Street and have been commenting about the same on social media ever since. "Video shows the vibrant baraat with people dancing in the middle of the financial district. Talk about a market disruption! " wrote a person on X. "Indians are crazy , they shut down Wall street, NYC for a Baraat" added another. Some people on Instagram commended the DJ's tune which mixed the song Empire State of Mind with the tunes of an Indian dhol, writing, "Never thought I would be hearing empire state of mind's dhol version , that's wild 🔥 ❤️"
