While all teenagers and young adults are inheriting the term 'born free', signifying living a life without limitations, there are still numerous factors plaguing society.
With parents, friends and family claiming to understand their struggles, it could force youngsters to silence their thoughts.
Committed to empowering the next generation by listening to their voices, the Zululand Observer is launching the 'Voices of Tomorrow' campaign for individuals aged between 13 and 25.
This initiative will illuminate the hopes, ideas and dreams of the next generation, and is driven by three burning questions:
1. What matters most to you?
2. What would you change if you could?
3. What kind of South Africa do you hope to live in?
Your answers will help celebrate the perspectives of the country's youth while reflecting diversity and inspiring optimism.
Be part of the Voices of Tomorrow campaign by emailing zulobs@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 7842695.
All messages must include your name, age, school, area, and a photo/selfie for the article.
