Maharashtra industry department signs MoUs worth Rs 8,436 crore investment in Dhule
Nashik: The industry department of the state govt on Monday signed MoUs with 119 industries for a total investment of Rs 8,436.41 crore during an investment summit held in Jalgaon city.
The proposed investments are expected to generate around 11,506 jobs in Dhule district. Vrushali Sone, joint director of industries, Nashik division, signed the MoUs at the summit, chaired by state revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Dhule guardian minister Jaykumar Rawal.
The investments, to be made in a year or two, will span sectors such as textiles, food processing, fertilisers, engineering, and steel manufacturing. Some companies will make fresh investments, while others plan to expand existing facilities, primarily within the MIDC areas of Dhule.
Inaugurating the summit, Bawankule said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to make India a developed country by 2047. In the future, India will become the largest entrepreneurship-generating country in the world."
He noted that chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has introduced various facilities for entrepreneurs and highlighted the government's focus on promoting solar energy, with plans to transition 45 lakh farmers to solar power over the next three years, helping to provide subsidised electricity to industries.
Bawankule also emphasised the district's potential for industrial growth, stating that around 2,000 acres are being acquired for future projects. Rawal added, "We are providing all the facilities to industries to attract more investment in Dhule." MP Shobha Bachhav, district collector Jitendra Papalkar, Santosh Gavli, general manager of the District Industries Centre, and other officials attended the event.
