Fox Television Stations One Hour Special Examines the Five Years After George Floyd
Fox Television Stations will premiere a one-hour special called After George Floyd. The show is produced by Fox 9 Minneapolis and will look into what has or hasn't changed since George Floyd's murder in Minneapolis sparked protests, civil unrest, and nationwide calls for police reform. Hosted by Fox 9's Symone Woolridge, the show shares the stories of residents and businesses in and around George Floyd Square five years later. Here's what the show producers promise: We will walk the beat with two Minneapolis police officers assigned to the area, where emotions remain raw. We sit down with the former police chief who led the department five years ago — and the current chief — to explore what has changed and what work remains. We speak with the State Commissioner of Human Rights about the consent decrees now in place for the police department: Have they made a difference? And we follow the journey of the muralist who painted the iconic image of George Floyd in 2020. ‘Armed and dangerous' 16-year-old wanted in stepdad's killing, GA sheriff says
A man was found shot to death inside his Atlanta-area home and his teenage stepson is accused of pulling the trigger, according to a Georgia sheriff. Arrest warrants were issued for 16-year-old Jayden Daniel after David Gay, 41, was found dead May 13 at the family's home in Covington, the Newton County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Daniel was still at large as of May 15 and should be considered 'armed and dangerous,' according to deputies. He's wanted on multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault and theft by taking. Authorities were called to the home at about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a shooting and discovered Gay's body, deputies said. Investigators suspect Daniel fatally shot Gay, but haven't said what led to the shooting. Daniel's mom, Kennethia Gay, has pleaded for her son to surrender, according to WAGA. Kennethia Gay told the station she lost her other son to gun violence last year. 'Please turn yourself in,' she told WAGA. 'This is the ultimate breaking point for me. I said I couldn't lose another child. I lost my husband, and now I really can't lose another child.' Kennethia Gay remembered her husband as a devoted dad who loved her kids 'like you guys were his own,' the station reported. Authorities didn't release additional information. Deputies have asked anyone with information on Daniel's whereabouts to call 911 or Newton County investigators at 678-625-1543. Covington is about a 30-mile drive southeast from downtown Atlanta.

Tree falls on home, killing 10-year-old in bed with her grandma, GA family says
A 10-year-old girl died and two other people were injured after a large tree crashed through the roof of her family's home, Georgia firefighters said. It happened at about 3 a.m. Saturday, May 3, on Mims Street in Atlanta's Mozley Park neighborhood, according to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department. Family members said A'erica Dixon was lying in bed with her grandma when a tree split and fell onto the house, according to WXIA. They were trapped, as were A'erica's mom and three siblings, WAGA reported. Her mom and grandmother were taken to a hospital, but A'erica died from her injuries, according to city fire officials. Loved ones said A'erica was known by her friends and family as 'Tink.' 'Tink was a very happy child who was a cheerleader,' her cousin, Tomeka Dixon, wrote on a GoFundMe page for the family. 'She loved dancing and making TikTok videos & playing with her toys.' Several Atlanta-area counties were placed under a severe thunderstorm watch late Saturday evening as heavy storms rolled into the region, according to the National Weather Service. 'The house just started shaking,' A'erica's older sister, Akiylah Dixon, recalled to WANF. 'Everything just crashed, and I just see my mama running through the hallway to get to my grandma.' 'I broke down really bad, because that wasn't just my little sister. That was my best friend,' she told the station. Relatives said a limb of the tree had fallen before, barely missing the family's SUV during Hurricane Helene in 2023, WXIA reported. 'The landlord was informed about it, and they were supposed to come and cut the whole entire tree down so this wouldn't happen again,' Erica Melson, a relative, told the station. A funeral for A'erica will be held May 24, according to GoFundMe.

Global Airports Summit 2027 to Be Hosted in Sharm El Sheikh
Announced during the ACI Africa Conference in Tanzania, this will be the first time Egypt hosts the event. May 03, 2025 Egypt has been selected to host the Airports Council International (ACI) World Annual General Assembly (WAGA) in Sharm El Sheikh in 2027. The announcement, made during the 73rd ACI Africa Conference in Tanzania, marks the first time Egypt will welcome the summit. WAGA 2027 will convene over 1,000 airport executives, policymakers, and innovators from ACI's five global regions to discuss strategies for operational efficiency, sustainability, and digital transformation. The event includes technical forums, an exhibition of cutting-edge aviation tech, and networking opportunities. Previous editions were held in Marrakesh (2022), Barcelona (2023), and Riyadh (2024), with Toronto set for 2025. The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, led by CEO Eng. Ayman Fawzy Arab, signed the hosting agreement with ACI World. Egypt's delegation also participated in key ACI Africa meetings, addressing challenges like climate resilience and passenger experience.
