West Aussie Lotto player banks entire division one prize
One WA Lotto player is starting the weekend $1 million richer after taking a chance on Friday's Millionaire Medley draw. The lucky West Aussie was the only player to match six winning numbers required to snag the division one sum. Division two produced two winners who will be celebrating hauls worth more than $18,400. An additional 98 Aussies will walk away with a handy cash boost of $582.45 each from division three. The winning numbers for draw #4556 were 20, 44, 41, 15, 16 and 43. The supplementary numbers were 42 and 40. Luck in the west comes after three ticketholders from the State managed to bag $1.2m each in Saturday's game. One of those tickets belonged to a retired couple who made the winning purchase from Albany Lottery News and Gifts. After coming forward to claim their prize, the couple revealed they plan to use the cash to splash out on new carpets and curtains. Albany Lottery, News and Gifts owner Cathy Campbell said the winning division one ticket, worth a total $1,228,899 is the second highest cash prize they have ever sold. 'We did a $2.17m one in 2011, but this is the next biggest one after that,' she said. 'It's always exciting selling a winning ticket, even if its only $1000 as people get excited about it.'

Lotto: Powerball jackpots to $100 million after no ticketholders claim division one prize on Thursday night
Powerball's division one prize has soared to a mind boggling amount after no ticketholders were able to lay claim to the top prize in Thursday's draw. Next week's draw will give players the chance to win a share in $100 million for the first time since November 2024. But not all ticketholders walked away empty handed. Six players — including two West Aussies — struck it lucky with division two hauls worth more than $121,970 each. The winning numbers for draw #1516 were 1, 30, 12, 34, 24, 9 and 6. The powerball was 10. Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said WA Lotto history could be made if a single ticketholder takes out the division one prize next Thursday. 'WA's biggest Lotto win to date is an $80 million Powerball prize, which was won by a group of 55 ladies from a gym in Perth's northern suburbs in December 2021,' he said. 'When jackpots reach these heights, it's a great opportunity for players to get a syndicate together with family, friends or workmates, to share the cost of a ticket and hopefully the joy of a win.' Tickets for Powerball's $100 million jackpot are available in-store, online or via the Lotterywest App until 6pm on Thursday.
