Boat on fire in Connecticut River rescued by Chicopee crews
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Multiple crews responded to a boat on fire in the Connecticut River Tuesday morning, helping to bring the vessel safely to shore.

The Chicopee Police Department shared that at approximately 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, WESTCOMM Regional Dispatch received a report of a boat on fire in the Connecticut River. Officers arrived at the area and located the boat, which was no longer on fire.
The owner of the vessel reported to officers that the boat had lost all power and that assistance was needed. The Chicopee Police Marine Unit was assisted by the Chicopee Fire Marine Unit and the Hampden County Sheriff's Department Marine Unit to safely tow the vessel to shore.
All occupants of the boat were removed safely, and no injuries were reported.
