In doing so, Yager became the 170th WHL player to reach the milestone. Yager is playing in his fifth and what is likely his final WHL campaign. The first four and a half seasons were spent with the Moose Jaw Warriors, where he was able to win a WHL championship, CHL and WHL Rookie of the Year honours and score 280 of his 301 career points with. In his first 14 games with the Hurricanes, the 2023 14th overall pick has seven goals and 21 points, making an instant impact on a team hoping to go on a deep playoff run.
