This fundraiser supports the only full-service children's hospital in the area, providing life-saving care to children like Emilia Cecchetelli.
Emilia was born at just 26 weeks old. After over 140 days in intensive care, she made a full recovery. Emilia's brother Abram told 22News about their positive experience at Baystate.
'I love Baystate because my sister had to spend a long time in the hospital and they just took care of her left and right, and I'm very thankful for that,' Abram Cecchetelli said.
The final tally on donations was announced Wednesday evening, with the event raising a grand total of $256,235.
'Every family wants highly-reliable, safe care for their children, and those who have contributed to this event are supporting resources to do just this, helping families when they need us most,' said Peter D. Banko, President & CEO of Baystate Health. 'I am grateful for the generosity from our sponsors, community and caregivers.'
These funds will go directly in support of pediatric care at Baystate Children's Hospital, including the purchase of equipment, continued medical research, and the ongoing development of an inviting and welcoming space for patients.
