Former Homer teacher pleads not guilty to rape
HOMER, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A former Cortland County teacher has pleaded not guilty to raping a victim on several occasions. On Tuesday, Paul Andre pleaded not guilty to four counts of rape in the first degree as well as four counts of criminal sexual act, as reported by WNBF News. Andre was arrested in October 2024 following an investigation into a report of sex abuse allegations that had occurred between September 2006 and June 2008 at an undisclosed location in the Village of Homer as well as at an undisclosed location in the Town of Solon. Cortland County man accused raping victim several times During an investigation, it was determined Andre had allegedly subjected one victim to inappropriate sexual contact. As reported by WNBF News, the victim was allegedly one of Andre's students. According to WNBF News, Andre was employed by the Homer Central School District until he resigned in September of 2024 for apparent 'retirement purposes.' Andre is scheduled to appear in court on April 22. He will continue to be released on his own recognizance. Amici Pub and Pizzeria closes after 14 years in business
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Another downtown Binghamton eatery has closed, but it may not stay closed for long. Amici Pub and Pizzeria at the corner of Henry and Fayette Streets closed following a busy Parade Day on March 1. The restaurant was opened 14 years ago across the street from Mirabito Stadium. Owner Daniel DiRienzo told WNBF News that new owners are expected to move into the site soon, so it won't stay dormant for long.
