Luiza Savage Joins WP Intelligence as Editorial Director

We're thrilled to announce that Luiza Savage is joining WP Intelligence as editorial director. Luiza will oversee the editorial content for WP Intelligence, including its platform, newsletters, and live convenings. She is a dynamic, entrepreneurial media leader with a global outlook and over 25 years of experience, most recently serving as Executive Editor for Growth at Politico. During her decade at Politico, Luiza led the development of new editorial initiatives across multiple platforms. She oversaw Politico Live's editorial programming, annual policy summits, and a membership program for senior leaders, while launching newsletters on global and national policy issues. She managed award-winning audio and video teams and spearheaded podcasts and video series on topics ranging from daily technology and health care news to thought leadership on global trade. Her experience closely mirrors WP Intelligence. In line with our plan and mission, WP Intelligence will offer premium membership councils and professional subscriptions across various verticals, including Global Security, AI and Tech, Climate and Energy, and Healthcare. Luiza will lead a rapidly growing team of editorial talent. This week, Jason Dean, a veteran technology editor from the Wall Street Journal, joined us as the lead AI & Tech analyst, based in San Francisco. Jason joins Josh Rogin, who is our lead analyst for Global Security. You can read a sample of Josh's work for WP Intelligence here and here. These key editorial roles complement a growing commercial team, which is rapidly expanding to support our councils while creating a robust pipeline for WPI subscribers as we approach our platform launch this summer. Luiza will be a key partner for me in completing the build for WP Intelligence and executing on our content plans. At Politico, Luiza created Politico Canada, developed media partnerships with major international organizations, and developed a community engagement strategy for Politico's B2B subscription business. She worked closely with teams across the newsroom, product, revenue, marketing, communications and data to meet the needs of clients and subscribers. Earlier in her career, Luiza was Washington bureau chief for Canada's Maclean's magazine, hosted two television documentaries, and worked for several newspapers. She holds an economics degree from Harvard University and a master's degree from Yale Law School, where she was a Knight Foundation Journalism Fellow. She begins July 7.

WP Intelligence Names Jason Dean Lead Analyst for AI and Technology Council

We're thrilled to announce that we've hired our latest lead analyst for WP Intelligence: Jason Dean. Jason, who will lead our AI and Tech vertical, is an award-winning journalist with more than 25 years of experience, most recently as global technology editor at The Wall Street Journal. At the Journal, Jason directed coverage of the tech industry and its people, products and power for nearly a decade, a period when its companies developed some of the world's most impactful innovations and gained unparalleled wealth and influence. Under his leadership, the Journal's tech bureau produced numerous investigative series and was recognized with multiple Loeb awards and other major journalism prizes. Jason regularly hosted events and WSJ Council gatherings, and we're excited to see him start writing for WP Intelligence and moderating our virtual briefings and Intelligence Council events very soon. Jason also has extensive experience covering Asia news. At the Journal, he was also a reporter in Beijing, then served as its correspondent in Taiwan. After returning to Beijing in 2005, he became China News Editor, helping run a team that won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting. As the anchor for our AI and Tech vertical, Jason will bring his decades of experience to our analysis offerings, and his sourcing and convening skills to the executive audience we are building for WP Intelligence. Jason starts June 9. He'll be getting right to work helping us build out our site for a launch later this summer. We already have a wait list for our WP Intelligence AI and Tech Council, and we plan to host events around the world, bringing world class expertise to decision makers who want a closer relationship with The Washington Post.
