Cecelia Mecca shares her journey from English teacher to romance author
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Cecelia Mecca, the author of several romance series, appeared as a guest on Spotlight New England, WPRI 12's new daily show. Mecca, an English teacher turned author, joined hosts Ashley Erling and Audrey McClelland to discuss her writing across various subgenres, including medieval, contemporary, and fantasy romance. The Pennsylvania native has published more than 40 books, both with an agent and independently. In addition to her writing, Mecca holds a PhD in curriculum instruction and runs a successful blog. How to watch Mass of Installation for RI's new Catholic bishop
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Most Rev. Bruce Lewandowski will officially become Rhode Island's new Roman Catholic bishop on Tuesday. A Solemn Mass of Installation will be held at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Providence. You can watch the Mass live on the free WPRI 12+ smart TV app or right here on The Mass will be led by the Most Rev. Christopher Coyne, who as archbishop of Hartford has oversight of the Providence diocese. Lewandowski — who has encouraged people to call him 'Bishop Bruce ' — comes to Rhode Island from the Archdiocese of Baltimore. He was one of the last bishops appointed by Pope Francis prior to the pontiff's death in April. Pope Francis appoints Lewandowski as RI's new Catholic bishop During the Mass, Monsignor John Paul Pedrera, representative of the Apostolic Nunciature to the United States and the Diplomatic Mission of the Holy See and of Pope Leo XIV, will read an English translation of the Apostolic Mandate issued by the late pontiff. Once Lewandowski accepts the mandate and it's confirmed by the College of Consulters, his ministry as the 10th bishop of Providence will begin. See the full program for the Mass here.
