Storms expected throughout Memorial Day Weekend

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Unfortunately, we have rain in the forecast every day over Memorial Day weekend. The forecast has led Memphis in May to transition this year's Great American River Run to a virtual race. Expect thunderstorms Saturday morning through early afternoon before we dry out mid to late afternoon. A few of those storms may be strong to severe, with wind and hail being the main threats, though a rogue tornado isn't completely out of the question. WREG Memphis Area Weather Expect a similar forecast on Sunday, with morning storms clearing in the afternoon. Even though the severe weather parameters aren't particularly impressive, there still is some chance that a few storms could be strong or severe. Expect more thunderstorms on Monday, which could last a lot of the day. Be sure to download the WREG Weather APP when you are 'on the go' and the WREG+ APP for your smart TV at home. ‘Enhanced risk' for severe weather across Mid-South Tuesday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — As clean-up continues across Hernando and DeSoto County, Mississippi, the Mid-South is getting ready for another round of potentially severe weather. Severe Storms Prediction Center has West Tennessee and North Mississippi in an 'Enhanced Risk' for severe weather, for Tuesday afternoon. High winds, storms with hail, and a few tornadoes should be expected as our latest cold front roars across the region. Monday's weather is breezy and warm with highs nearing 90, and a few showers overnight. Tuesday afternoon, likely just after lunch, strong storms are forecast to develop. This is part of a cold front that will return cooler weather to the region for the rest of the week.
