WWE Interested in Signing Top Indie Wrestling Star Following Tryout

WWE has reportedly taken interest in a well-known independent wrestler. The company is constantly making room for new talent as it expands its programming. New shows such as "WWE Evolve" and "WWE LFG" have created opportunities for more independent stars and young athletes looking to make the transition to pro wrestling entertainment. Advertisement It appears WWE could have its sights set on one popular performer in the UK scene. Fightful's Corey Brennan reports that WWE has "significant" interest in potentially adding PROGRESS and RevPro star Zozaya to its roster. It was noted that Zozaya impressed WWE officials during a recent tryout. Zozaya makes his entrance for a match under the PROGRESS Wrestling banner.(via PROGRESS Wrestling) It was also mentioned that if WWE were to sign anyone who participated in the tryout, they would likely start working for the company in September. Zozaya is set to reach a personal milestone, as he is expected to wrap up university in June. Zozaya has shared the ring with some notable names in the industry, such as Michael Oku and LJ Cleary, who is the fiancé of WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria. Zozaya's last match took place on May 16 at "FFPW Episode 40 Grapple Games 4" in Dublin. He defeated JB in a "Grapple Games" qualifying match. Advertisement Zozaya began his in-ring career in 2018. Many believe the Madrid native has the key qualities of a main event player. He's been praised for his work rate, and some fans think he has the look to succeed for a major American wrestling company. Zozaya might get a chance to prove those fans right.
