A New Tour for "Seeking Haven For Mr. Rambo" from the UAE to the United States
A new journey for the film Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo" begins this Tuesday evening in the UAE, specifically at Aqil Cinema in Dubai, the first independent cinema in the Gulf. The film will have two additional screenings on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, February 5th and 6th. On Thursday, February 6th, the film will also be screened as part of the second edition of "Wadi Cinema" in Saudi Arabia, specifically in Riyadh's capital. The screening will take place at 7:00 PM, followed by a discussion session with the film's director, Khaled Mansour, moderated by Saudi critic Ahmed Al-Ayad, between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Afterwards, the film will head to the United States, where it will have its U.S. premiere as part of the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California. It is among the official selections alongside films from around the world. The film will have three screenings: the first on Sunday, February 9th, at 9:00 PM at Riviera Cinema; the second on the morning of Tuesday, February 11th, at the Film Center; and the final screening on Friday, February 14th, at 4:30 PM in the same venue. Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo revolves around "Hassan," a thirty-something young man who rediscovers himself and is forced to confront the fears of his past during his journey to save his dog and only friend, "Rambo," from an uncertain fate after being involved in a serious accident through no fault of his own. Overnight, he becomes pursued by Kareem, Hassan's neighbour, and all the residents of the neighbourhood. The film reveals many details about Hassan's life and his relationships with those around him. This film is the first feature-length work by director Khaled Mansour, who has previously directed several short films that have participated in regional and local festivals. Mansour co-wrote the screenplay with writer and screenwriter Mohamed El-Husseini. The film stars Essam Omar in his first cinematic role, alongside Rakeen Saad, Sama Ibrahim, and Ahmed Bahaa, one of the founders of the musical group Sharmoofers, in his acting debut. The film also features several young faces and guest stars. Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo is produced by Mohamed Hafez through Film Clinic and producer Rasha Hosny, who is venturing into feature film production for the first time, alongside her successful career in film criticism and programming at several major international film festivals. The film is distributed worldwide by Film Clinic Independent Distribution.

Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo: Egyptian film on the move from Arab countries to USA - Screens - Arts & Culture
Egyptian film Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo, which premiered in January in Egypt, was released in 100 cinemas across the Arab world and is yet to be screened in California, USA. Director Khaled Mansour's first feature-length narrative, Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo, will begin screening in the UAE and Saudi Arabia on 5 and 6 February, respectively. Mansour will lead a discussion of the film after the screening at Wadi Cinema in Riyadh. Mohamed El-Hosseiny and Mansour co-wrote the film, which stars Essam Omar, Rakin Saad, Sama Ibrahim, and Ahmed Bahaa, the co-founder of the Sharmoofers band, in his debut acting role. The drama film tells the story of Hassan (Essam Omar), a young man in his thirties who is forced to confront his past fears. He embarks on self-discovery, which includes a quest to save his dog and best friend, Rambo, from an unknown fate. Morocco, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman are also hosting the film. Moreover, the film will premiere in the United States at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California on 9, 11, and 14 February. Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo had its world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival (28 August-7 September 2024), where it was screened in the official selection. Then, it was screened at the Cinemamed Festival in Belgium, where it won both the Grand Prize and the Jury Award. It also secured the Jury Award at the Red Sea Film Festival and received a Special Mention at the 35th Carthage Film Days. The film premiered in Egyptian cinemas on 1 January 2025. Mohamed Hefzy produced the film through Film Clinic, along with producer Rasha Hosny, in her debut feature film production. Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo is distributed by Film Clinic Indie Distribution worldwide, Misr International Films inside Egypt, and Front Row Filmed Entertainment in the GCC countries. Short link:
