Walmart renovating 5 Arkansas locations; here's where and what they will look like
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Walmart plans to remodel hundreds of stores and has announced which locations will be renovated to reflect its 'Store of the Future' concept.
Walmart previously announced plans in January 2024 to invest in the remodeling of 650 store locations across 47 states and Puerto Rico, a move the company said would create tens of thousands of jobs to support the projects.
On Wednesday, the retail giant announced which locations would be renovated, with five locations in Arkansas:

'Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,' Nick Berkeley, Walmart Senior Vice President for the Southeast Business Unit, said in a news release on Wednesday. 'By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community's fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.'

The company said the remodels will 're-imagine' and update the in-store experience with new signage, bigger displays for merchandise, larger departments, expanded online delivery and pickup, new items and 'more of what customers are looking for.'
Walmart also said it will be 'rethinking' its pharmacies with wider aisles, new screening rooms and privacy check-out areas.
The retail giant posted renderings of the 'Walmart Store of the Future,' which show updates to the apparel, baby, pet and home departments, along with the bakery and grocery.
