Emma Raducanu match at French Open paused as Brit requires medical treatment
Emma Raducanu required medical attention during her French Open clash against Wan Xinyu, with the British star dabbing her eyes with ice and having her blood pressure checked. The 22-year-old was a break up in her first-round match at Roland Garros before being forced into a timeout.
British tennis legend Annabel Croft said: "It looks like Emma Raducanu is having something done to her eye here, she is rubbing the her cheek but it's quite high up near her eye.
"I don't think she is feeling 100 percent. I think her whole physical expression throughout this first set hasn't been quite right, even though she's doing extremely well to keep on top of the scoreline."
Raducanu was 6-5 up at the time of the incident, with the umpire allowing her a three-minute break while medics treated her.
After being given the all-clear to continue, she held her serve to win the first set 7-5 after the small set-back.
