Ex-WWE star Duke Droese arrested after allegedly trying to buy child porn
A former WWE wrestler was indicted by a Tennessee grand jury after he allegedly attempted to purchase child pornography last year, according to prosecutors. Michael Droese, known as Duke 'The Dumpster' Droese during his WWE days from 1994-96, is facing one count of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor — a class D felony — after the FBI was tipped off to allegations. 'This charge became aggravated because Mr. Droese intended to purchase the child sexual assault material,' said Chris Stanford, the District Attorney General of the 31st Judicial District in Tennessee, in a release on Monday. 'Purchasing child sexual assault material is an aggravated crime because the money used to purchase the material is what continues to make child sexual assault material profitable for criminal enterprises that produce it and sell across the world.' He is due back in Warren County Circuit Court on May 28 for an arraignment hearing as he faces a possible sentence of two to four years if convicted. The release also noted that Droese had been working as a DUI coordinator for the 31st Judicial District Adult Recovery Court Program — also known as 'Drug Court' — and worked for the ARC program in 'various capacities' over several years. He also said, at the time, that he was training high school athletes. Advertisement In 2013, however, he resigned from his teaching job after selling oxycodone to an undercover agent. He was sentenced to a month in jail, the Southern Standard reported at the time. Droese had become a familiar face to wrestling fans during the early '90s and developed a rivalry with Jerry 'The King' Lawler, which included a moment where Lawler hit Droese in the head with his own garbage can, which prompted the WWE to apologize. 5 Duke 'The Dumpster' Droese in 2019. Accused church arsonist admits he gets ‘adrenaline rush' from setting fires
WARREN COUNTY, Mo. – A Warren County, Missouri, man is in custody for allegedly starting a fire that destroyed a church and several vehicles. According to a probable cause statement from the Warren County Sheriff's Department, the fire was set on the morning of Tuesday, March 18, at Abundant Life Church in the 21000 block of Northwest Service Road. The fire also destroyed three semi tractors, a work/utility truck, a school bus, an RV camper, a pull-behind camper, and a Conex box full of materials. The severity of the damage prevented investigators from identifying anything else that might have been destroyed. The sheriff's department said a motion-activated trail camera on the property provided deputies with a lead on a suspect vehicle. The camera took multiple photographs of a white Dodge Durango leaving the church property approximately seven minutes before the first 911 call about the fire. Investigators identified the Durango and located the vehicle at the home of Derek M. McMahon, 34. Deputies allege McMahon admitted to using a book of matches to set the church fire, adding that he 'gets an adrenaline rush' from setting fires. The Warren County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged McMahon with two counts of second-degree arson and six counts of knowingly burning or exploding. McMahon remains jailed without bond. He's due in court on Thursday, March 20. McMahon has prior criminal history of similar activity in other communities. In 2021, he was arrested by the Union Police Department for arson and found guilty that September in Franklin County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to seven years in state prison.
