Wichita Falls no longer in drought zone as lake levels rise
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The U.S. Drought Monitor no longer lists Wichita Falls as in a drought.
According to city officials, the combined lake capacity for lakes Kickapoo and Arrowhead has risen 13%, bringing the level to 88.2%.
Drought restrictions are still in place, as they can only be lifted by the City Council.
On Monday, city officials said the Water Resources Board will meet soon to discuss the situation.
