We spoke to Wayne Lineker about Arne Slot's Ibiza celebrations
Wayne Lineker has revealed how he planned Arne Slot's Liverpool FC's Premier League title celebrations in Ibiza. The Reds clinched the victory in style at a jubilant Anfield with a thumping 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last month. After this, the manager took the opportunity to head to the Balearic Islands. In various social media posts, the Dutchman can be seen being welcomed onto the Ocean Beach stage with Queen's 'We Are the Champions' playing, while a group of women held up cards that read 'Champions.' Later on, in some clips, 'Freed From Desire' begins to play, while in an Instagram story posted by former EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney, Slot can be seen enjoying the atmosphere in one of Ibiza's most famous clubs. READ MORE: Merseyside main road to be shut for five weeks READ MORE: Police ask parents 'where are your kids' amid city centre trouble The video's caption read: "Eagle-eyed viewers will spot a certain Premiership-winning manager," accompanied by two eye emojis and a heart emoji. Wayne, the club's owner, also posted a picture of himself with Slot on Instagram, with the caption reading: 'Caption this #YWNA' accompanied by a heart and clap emoji. He also posted a video of the Liverpool boss making his way to the DJ booth, with the caption: 'No words. What a day.' Now, Wayne has told the ECHO how the party came about. Speaking to the ECHO from the city's National Influencer Awards, the 63-year-old said: 'It was amazing for me because I got three million views out of it. It was pure gold, amazing. He is a very, very nice man. 'He was very embarrassed about it all, but I had planned for him. He had zero chance of out-drinking me, though. He may be champion of the league, but I am the champion of Ibiza.' The nightclub tycoon joked that he was extending his stay in the city to enjoy the victory parade. Wayne walked away as the winner of the Entrepreneur influencer of the year award from the city's first National Influencer Awards. Held at the Crowne Plaza, the event spotlighted people from various industries and celebrated creativity, impact, and excellence in digital influence. The ceremony came about after founder Katherine Jones said she was 'sick of seeing' celebrations everywhere but in the city. The 35-year-old businesswoman, from Garston, previously told the ECHO: 'I've been in the marketing industry for 10 years, and these days, there's an award for everything but for influencers. I've never been nominated as an agency or any of the influencers I represent. "But I've been to lots of award shows, and they're always in London. You see them everywhere but here, there's nothing here in the north for us, nothing even quite similar. We were sick of seeing that gap. "I want to bring influencers to come here to experience Liverpool, get them here to spend their money, tag local businesses in the city and create the hype the city deserves. "We're bringing everyone here under one roof. There's a gap in the market, and we're going to fill it.'

Liverpool boss Arne Slot parties with Wayne Lineker in Ibiza
Liverpool manager Arne Slot was spotted living it up in Ibiza just hours after his team's draw with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon. The Dutch boss joined a number of celebrities on the island, including Gary Lineker's brother Wayne. Slot's Liverpool side were crowned Premier League champions in April but still have some fixtures to fulfil. They lost their last away game against Chelsea, but made a fast start against Arsenal before being pegged back for a 2-2 draw. Hours after the full-time whistle, O Beach Club owner Wayne shared a photo of himself embracing Slot at the Ibiza venue. "Caption this" was all he wrote alongside the picture. In another bit of footage, Slot is seen being ushered forward by crowds at the club as 'We Are the Champions' blares out. "No words. What a day," Wayne Lineker's caption reads. EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney also shared a video featuring the Dutchman on Instagram. "Eagle-eyed viewers will spot a certain Premiership-winning manager," he wrote. Liverpool have won the Premier League at a canter in Slot's first season in charge. Since wrapping up the title with victory over Tottenham Hotspur, though, they have yet to win a game. After losing 3-1 at Chelsea, they raced into the lead against Arsenal with two goals in two minutes through Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz. Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino earned a point for the visitors, though, before Merino picked up a late red card for a second bookable offence. "It is not always easy to win the league with four games to go, especially if you have one game a week because you have to keep them ready to play," Slot told BBC Radio 5 Live after the draw. Liverpool face Europe-chasing Brighton in their next game on Monday before completing the campaign with a home game against Crystal Palace. "For the ones that won the league as early as we did know how difficult it is to train players that have already won the league, to keep the intensity levels needed in the Premier League," he continued. "That is what we showed today. I hope we see the same against Brighton but I can tell you we will definitely see it against Crystal Palace." Speaking separately to Sky Sports, he said: "After you have won the league, you always wonder what team you get but I liked the team I got. We had some good counter attacks. Arsenal immediately scored in the second half and then I brought Diogo Jota on as an extra attacker and we went so close to winning the game."
