Gatvol West Acres residents demand immediate action
Residents of Trichilia Street, West Acres, are frustrated due to unacknowledged complaints regarding the overgrown trees and potholes in the area.
Certain residents on this street claim that their requests have gone unacknowledged for two years. The overhanging branches make it difficult for higher vehicles to use the road.

We reported the matter to the municipality, but it fell on deaf ears. The trees have been a problem for some time. We were hoping that it would be part of the Service Delivery Drive [SDD], but nothing has happened,' they said.
Residents were forced to finance We Care 4 Nelspruit to repair mushrooming potholes. 'After they were fixed, the CoM never maintained them. We have not seen the SDD in our area. The CoM mayor, Cllr Sibongile Makushe-Mazibuko, promised services will be ongoing in the city, but this area seems to be ignored,' they lamented.
The ward councillor of the area, Kyle Olivier, said: 'I am aware that several trees need pruning. I will again render the request.'
The CoM's spokesperson, Joseph Ngala, was not available for comment by time of publishing.
