In landmark move, Haryana announces reservation for Deprived Scheduled Castes, Other SCs in Group D recruitment

In a landmark decision, the Haryana Government Wednesday announced the recruitment process for 7,596 Group-D posts through the state Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), including 605 posts reserved for Deprived Scheduled Castes (DSC) and 604 posts for Other Scheduled Castes (OSC) for the first time in its history. 'This recruitment process will not only provide employment opportunities but also reinforce social justice,' Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said. 'This is a historic move to bridge intra-category disparities and ensure equitable distribution of reservation benefits. The shared goal of the Central and Haryana governments is Antyodaya, uplifting the most deprived sections of society. This recruitment drive is a significant step toward securing the rights of all communities, particularly Scheduled Castes and other backward classes,' he added. 'The present state government is committed to empowering the youth and bringing every section of society into the mainstream of development,' Saini said. Reservation has also been provided for categories like Backward Classes (A category), BC (B), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), physically handicapped (PH), eligible sportspersons (ESP), and ex-servicemen (ESM). The chief minister said the recruitment initiative is yet another example of 'the visionary leadership of the Haryana Government and the Centre' which 'will not only boost employment but also ensure social inclusion and fairness.' He said the candidates will be selected based on their Common Eligibility Test (CET) scores to ensure a transparent and merit-based selection process. Saini said the government is committed to 'ensuring complete transparency and fairness in this recruitment process. The use of technology will simplify and streamline the application and selection process, making it more efficient. This initiative will not only open new avenues of employment for the youth but also further strengthen the government's commitment to social inclusion and equality.'
