Release Date: May 01, 2025 For the complete transcript of the earnings call, please refer to the full earnings call transcript. The Estee Lauder Companies Inc (NYSE:EL) achieved market share gains in key markets such as the U.S., China, and Japan, marking significant progress in these regions. Gross margin expanded by 310 basis points compared to the previous year, reflecting operational efficiencies and strategic pricing actions. The company is making significant progress in its restructuring program, reducing over 2,600 net positions and streamlining middle management by 20%. Innovations such as Clinique's new Moisture Surge and Estee Lauder's Double Wear concealer have driven consumer acquisition and market share gains. The Estee Lauder Companies Inc (NYSE:EL) is leveraging AI-driven marketing and expanding its presence on platforms like Amazon and TikTok, contributing to mid-single-digit growth in online organic sales. Organic sales declined by 9% in the third quarter, with travel retail experiencing a significant 28% decline. Diluted earnings per share decreased by 33%, indicating financial pressure despite some operational improvements. Operating margin contracted by 270 basis points to 11.4%, driven by increased consumer-facing investments and sales deleverage. The company faces ongoing challenges with weakened consumer sentiment in the U.S. and parts of Europe, as well as prolonged weak sentiment in China. The geopolitical landscape, including evolving trade policies and tariffs, adds uncertainty and potential material impact on future profitability. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 5 Warning Signs with EL. Q: Can you discuss your expectations for trade inventories exiting fiscal 2025 and any associated risks? A: Akio, CFO: We have made significant progress, especially in travel retail, where inventory levels have been reduced significantly. Retailers globally are tightening inventory, and we are adjusting accordingly. We are confident in our guidance, which reflects current market conditions, including the volatility around the June 18 shopping festival. Q: What are your planning assumptions for FY 2026, particularly regarding retail inventory and market trends? A: Stefano, CEO: We are confident in returning to positive growth in FY 2026, driven by market share gains in key markets like the U.S., China, and Japan. We are seeing sequential improvements and are de-risking travel retail. However, we are monitoring external factors like consumer sentiment in China and the U.S. Q: Can you provide more details on your tariff mitigation strategies and the timeline for reducing U.S. to China product sourcing? A: Stefano, CEO: By the end of this fiscal year, we aim to reduce U.S. to China sourcing to around 10%, leveraging our new manufacturing facility in Japan. Most U.S. imports are from Europe, and we are confident in our ability to mitigate tariff impacts through regional manufacturing and strategic sourcing. Q: What are your expectations for savings from the TRGP in fiscal 2025, and what areas are you targeting for further savings? A: Akio, CFO: We are on target with our TRGP savings for fiscal 2025, focusing on gross margin improvements and employee cost reductions. For fiscal 2026, we are accelerating outsourcing and procurement projects to drive further efficiencies and cost savings. Q: How do you plan to achieve competitive market share performance across all regions in fiscal 2026? A: Stefano, CEO: We are focusing on maintaining and accelerating market share gains in the U.S., China, and Japan. We are leveraging our strong brand portfolio and innovation to drive growth. We are also addressing areas of weakness, such as travel retail and certain emerging markets, with targeted strategies. Amazon is selling every single Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 model at a sweet $100 discount
If you have a problem with odd numbers or simply felt Amazon's $90 Galaxy Watch 7 discount last week was not good enough to convince you to buy Samsung's latest high-end smartwatch with a non-rugged design, the e-commerce giant is back today with a deeper price cut that undeniably has a nicer ring to it. Yes, the 2024-released Apple Watch rival with Wear OS software and exclusive Android smartphone compatibility is marked down by a hefty $100 from a regular starting price of $299.99 that never seemed excessive to begin with considering the stylish look and impressive specifications of the Galaxy Watch 7 . GPS, Bluetooth, Aluminum Case, 1.3-Inch AMOLED Display with 432 x 432 Pixel Resolution, Sapphire Crystal, AI Smartwatch with Energy Score, Heart Rate Monitor, Sleep Tracking, Wear OS, 300mAh Battery, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage, Green and Cream Colors, US Version, 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty Buy at Amazon GPS, Bluetooth, Aluminum Case, 1.47-Inch AMOLED Display with 480 x 480 Pixel Resolution, Sapphire Crystal, AI Smartwatch with Energy Score, Heart Rate Monitor, Sleep Tracking, Wear OS, 425mAh Battery, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage, Green and Silver Colors, US Version, 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty Buy at Amazon GPS, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, Aluminum Case, 1.3-Inch AMOLED Display with 432 x 432 Pixel Resolution, Sapphire Crystal, AI Smartwatch with Energy Score, Heart Rate Monitor, Sleep Tracking, Wear OS, 300mAh Battery, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage, Green and Cream Colors, US Version, 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty Buy at Amazon GPS, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, Aluminum Case, 1.47-Inch AMOLED Display with 480 x 480 Pixel Resolution, Sapphire Crystal, AI Smartwatch with Energy Score, Heart Rate Monitor, Sleep Tracking, Wear OS, 425mAh Battery, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage, Green and Silver Color Options, US Version, 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty Buy at Amazon Even better, the same $100 discount can be applied to the 44mm model in addition to the entry-level 40mm variant, as well as cellular-enabled units available in both sizes. Oh, and if you hurry, you can choose from a couple of different hues across the board here. Although Samsung is likely to release an even better Galaxy Watch 8 in the relatively near future, what you're looking at here is still without a doubt one of the best smartwatches money can buy in 2025, as well as a hard-to-beat value proposition in an extremely crowded and competitive market. Our comprehensive Galaxy Watch 7 review from last year remains largely true and valid, mind you, at least as far as things like all-day comfort and overall performance are concerned. The battery life is obviously not perfect, and the heart rate monitoring accuracy could occasionally be better as well, but the sheer number of handy health and wellness tools and a pretty much unrivaled long-term software support make this bad boy a very smart buy at a massive $100 discount.

Westchester students can get free dresses, tuxes, shoes for prom May 2-4 at County Center
Some teenagers dream about their prom like others imagine their wedding. But some also worry about whether they can meet the financial commitments that go along with prom. That's where Operation Prom National Network, Inc. comes in. A nonprofit organization that collects and distributes formal wear, Operation Prom aims to ensure every high school senior can attend their prom, regardless of their financial circumstances. For more than 20 years, Operation Prom has partnered with Westchester County to host a free prom attire giveaway for high school seniors in the county. This weekend, the tradition continues with Operation Prom's Formal Wear Giveaway at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. On Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3, prom dresses, tuxedos, undergarments, shoes and accessories will be available to Westchester high school seniors who bring a school ID or report card with them to the event. Dresses (not tuxedos) will also be available in the morning on Sunday, May 4, with a prom dress sale that's open to the public to follow. Students with their high school IDs can also get free Bee-Line bus fare to attend the giveaway. (Dresses and tuxedos are available while supplies last.) The Operation Prom National Network was founded in 2005 by Noel D'Allacco, an entrepreneur, activist and professor who lives in Westchester County. The Yonkers native started the initiative when she realized there weren't any organizations around to help students in her community attend prom. The goal was to help students find the perfect prom outfit at no cost to them, so that they can feel confident and empowered. 'Seeing the joy on the faces of the young people, and witnessing the boost in self-confidence and self-esteem that comes with it is profoundly gratifying,' Leonard Townes, Westchester County department of social services commissioner, said in an April announcement of the 2025 event. Westchester County was an early partner to Operation Prom. Now, 21 years later, that partnership has grown into an event that helps thousands of students across the county. "I'm so grateful for the decades of support,' D'Allacco said in the 2025 event announcement. Operation Prom runs free prom dress and tuxedo giveaway in eight states in addition to New York, including California, Michigan, Pennsylvania and more. In 2024 alone, there were 19 Operation Prom events that distributed more than 6,000 formal wear items to students in need. D'Allacco said she's expecting about 1,000 students to attend the Westchester Formal Wear Giveaway this weekend. When: 1 to 5 p.m., Friday, May 2; 10 to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 3; 10 a.m. to noon, Sunday, May 4 (Sunday is dresses only.) Where: Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave., White Plains. Supreme court ruling on sex divides opinion
The recent supreme court ruling on gender recognition and the controversial debate over single-sex spaces has at its core the need to avoid male violence. Male violence affects us all, but is seldom mentioned in any of these toxic debates. Instead, we get women being pitched against trans women, and one of the major underlying causes of all this distress – male violence – is allowed to remain unexamined. Putting the sports issue aside, can you imagine how different this issue would have been if there was no threat of violence (whether sexual or physical) from men, either towards women or trans women? The first step in treating a problem is to correctly name the root MoylettTyne and Wear Gender self-identification has created confusion and inconsistency across our institutions. The sharp edge of this has, as usual, hurt mostly vulnerable women such as those in prison; those needing refuge from domestic violence; and those either working in, or requiring treatment from, NHS services. In these three examples we have ample evidence of male-bodied trans women violating women's protected space. This clarification from the supreme court was necessary and proportionate, and should have no adverse effect on the majority, who are not violating spaces reserved for women, but simply living their lives. It also puts the onus on organisations to ensure provision for trans women who are also vulnerable to male violence, but whose needs should not be conflated with those of women for legitimate safeguarding BrookeHailsham, East Sussex Sam Fowles writes: 'It must be remembered that this is not an abstract debate – it involves real people' (The supreme court didn't rule on the definition of 'a woman' – this is what its judgment does mean, 16 April). Gender-critical feminists have always known that this debate involves real people; women are real people, too. It is precisely because this inconvenient fact was forgotten by the Scottish parliament – that as real people we have suffered real abuse, vilification, fear, and denial of our sex-based human rights – that the case was brought in the first place. The ruling is absolute validation for those of us who have seen service providers and public bodies regard the expectations of 0.44% of the population as more important than the rights of 50%. It means that the spaces the women's movement fought for, especially those for recovery from the trauma of male violence, can again become safe for women to access. Having experienced discrimination, abuse, sexual assault, violence and harassment from men because I am a woman, I do not wish anyone to experience such behaviour, be they women, trans women, trans men or men. I understand that trans women may not wish to access male spaces, so I suggest that the trans community campaign for safe transgender spaces. That way we can all have dignity and safety, and live life free from fear and intimidation. Stephanie Green Isleworth, London I am a mother. A mother to a transgender daughter who is about to turn 18. My daughter has rightly been devastated about this ruling and what it means for her and her hopes for the future. She hoped that the gender recognition certificate would acknowledge her identity, but she now feels her dreams have been obliterated. I would like to ask the women who have campaigned for this ruling: how many transgender women do you know? How many have you spoken to? Have you thought about what this means to them? My daughter does not want to be an athlete and compete in the Olympics or sit on a board in Scotland – she wants a normal life. A normal life is being able to drink fluids when you are at college. I've seen my daughter severely dehydrated, putting her health at risk, because she is too scared to go to the toilet. My daughter is so brave to go out every day and face the staring, the remarks, the laughing. Transgender women already have so much to overcome. The protections stated in the Equality Act do not protect from the narrow-minded, the cruel and the heartless. On Wednesday, I was ashamed to be a and address supplied Since coming out as a trans woman a few years ago, I have been in the habit of using women's loos without causing offence or even a raised eyebrow. Do I no longer have this option? With my hairstyle and general appearance, I would be an obvious misfit in the gents, inviting name-calling or worse. So what am I to do when caught short? The system before the latest ruling has generally worked well, including special exceptions for single-sex spaces where appropriate. There have been a small number of high-profile mistakes, such as the housing of a self-identified trans woman with convictions for molesting women in a women's jail. Such things call for sensible management rather than sweeping change. I feel significantly less safe today than I did before the judgment. We have taken a sad backward step towards a darker, less compassionate IsherwoodBroughton-in-Furness, Cumbria I am a trans woman, I am pre-op but living full-time as a woman. I am on hormone-adjusting medication. I fought long and hard against the idea of transitioning until it became the only option for my sanity. My question is: who is most at risk, a woman when I use the ladies toilets, or me if I use the gents? This ruling and its ramifications scare and address supplied

Horizon Health expanding to Tilton
TILTON, Ill. (WCIA) — One Vermillion County Village is getting a new Horizon Health clinic to help meet people's needs in town. It will be a family medicine clinic in Tilton — which means it can handle common medical issue like strep throat and the flu. It will be available for both appointments and walk-ins, and it will initially be staffed by three employees: one advanced practice doctor and two clinical support staff. Health Alliance discontinuing plans at year's end; Medicare Advantage to continue 'According to the builder, when we came in here and looked this over, he was explaining to me, this is going to be like a small lab area where they help diagnose problems people are having,' Tilton Mayor William Wear said. 'Over here is going to be the nurses station. And if my understanding is right, back in here somewhere is where the refrigeration units are going to go in, where they're going to keep the medication and all that.' Horizon said they're looking to hire a nurse practitioner or physician's assistant for the facility's main position. The plan is for the clinic to open by June of this year. Mayor Wear said it may expand to a five-acre lot in the future based on the needs of people in and around Tilton. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
