Cops hunt 3 men linked to viral Kota Baru street brawl
KOTA BARU: Police have released photofits of three men to assist in investigations into a street brawl at Jalan Kebun Sultan here last week.
Kota Baru police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said the men were identified as Weng Kok Choon, 58, from Kota Baru; and Saravana Kumar Sekar and Kumaresan Subramaniam, both 34, from Selangor.
He urged anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact the district police at 09-7752200, the investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Ganesan Eramanujam at 012-5691204, or any nearby police station.
Police were alerted to the incident after a video of the fight went viral on social media on May 23.
The one-minute 25-second clip, uploaded to the Facebook page 'INFO Rakyat DALAM Kelantan-irdk', shows several men alighting from two vehicles before assaulting people at the scene.
The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons, which carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.
