2 men, woman shot near Ogden Park in Englewood, police say
Three people were seriously injured Wednesday evening in a shooting near Ogden Park in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said. The victims, two men aged 25 and 37, and a 32-year-old woman, were struck by gunfire around 6:50 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Throop Street, according to Chicago police. Both men were wounded in the body, while the woman suffered a gunshot to her chest and her left leg, police said. All three victims were transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where they were all listed in serious condition, officials said. At the scene of the shooting, a police sergeant and an uniformed detective paced back and forth across the roadway, working out where each victim had stood based on blood spatters. The victims were standing in the park when the gunman opened fire, police said. As the police did their work, fireworks flashed in the distance, while a group of children continued to play, run, and shout at an adjacent playground. No arrests had been made as Wentworth Area detectives were investigating. tkenny@

2 men, woman shot in Ogden Park in Chicago's Englewood community
Two men and a woman were shot and wounded in Ogden Park in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood Wednesday evening. At 6:52 p.m., the men, ages 25 and 37, and the woman, 32, were on a walkway in the park when they were all shot by an unknown person, police said. The park is bounded by Racine Avenue on the east, Loomis Boulevard on the west, 64th Street on the north, and Marquette Road on the south. The 25-year-old man was shot in the chest, the 37-year-old man throughout the body, and the woman in the chest and left leg, police said. The victims were all taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. The crime scene is near a children's playground at Ogden Park, located at the north side of the park near 64th and Throop streets. There is also an outdoor swimming pool in the park, and youngsters in swimming apparel were seen on video near the scene. No one was in custody late Wednesday in the shooting. Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.

Boy, 15, wounded in Woodlawn shooting, police say
A 15-year-old boy was expected to recover after he was shot in the left knee Wednesday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood, according to Chicago police. An unknown gunman shot the boy while inside an apartment on the 6400 block of South Ingleside Avenue just after 6 p.m., police said. The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in fair condition, officials said. Police provided no further details on the shooting. No arrests had been made as Wentworth Area detectives were investigating. tkenny@
