Fire crews respond to two fires in Franklin County; Fire Co. issues 'No Open Burning' policy
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Franklin Fire Company has issued a 'Do Not Burn' warning for the next few days and reported two fires currently occurring in the county.
According to a Facebook post from the company, the next few days are 'forecasted for sunny skies, wind, and a high of 70°!' The post urges citizens to 'Please DO NOT BURN!'
The post says there are currently two wood fires occurring in Franklin County. Franklin Fire Company officials told abc27 that one fire was recently contained in the South Mountain area, and another 'mountain fire' is currently being fought at 13545 Forge Hill Road in Lurgan Township.
West End Fire & Rescue urges citizens to avoid the area until further notice.
