City of Johannesburg intensifies meter verification efforts

The City of Johannesburg has announced that it is stepping up its meter verification efforts in several parts of Johannesburg throughout the month of May. According to the city, this is part of its billing optimisation project to enhance revenue collection and improve customers' bills by ensuring that customers receive accurate meter readings for their water and electricity consumption. The city's group finance's director for communications and stakeholder engagement, Kgamanyane Maphologela, stated that the meter verification project will not only lead to an improvement in service delivery but also 'accurate utility management' for its customers.
