Human remains found near Taylor Swift's Rhode Island home
Taylor Swift's Rhode Island holiday home is at the centre of a disturbing local news story.
Police in Westerly, Rhode Island - in the northeastern US - responded to a call about possible human remains found there on Wednesday, local news outlet WJAR reported.
On arriving at the scene in the neighbourhood of Watch Hill, officials discovered what appeared to be a human leg bone.
The location of the gruesome find is reportedly about 300 metres from Swift's house.
The remains were taken to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office for analysis.
Although police don't suspect foul play at this time, theories are rife that there may be a killer on the loose.
An investigation is currently underway by the Westerly Police Department Detective Division and officials are continuing work to confirm the identity of the remains.
Swift bought her Rhode Island residence for $17 million (£12.8 million) in 2013. The home has become synonymous with her famous 4th of July parties.
The Grammy winner also referenced the house in the song The Last Great American Dynasty off her 2020 album Folklore.
According to a building permit and zoning certificate obtained by Us magazine in January, the Rhode Island home is set to undergo a $1.7 million (£1.3 million) expansion, during which Swift plans to add a new bedroom to the home and remodel the kitchen.
