Libyan ministers discuss reviving key projects
The Transport Minister Mohamed Al-Shahoubi and Acting Minister of Education Ali Al-Abed have held talks with mayors from the Western Mountain region to discuss the implementation of stalled service projects as part of the government's 'Return to Life' initiative.
The meeting focused on addressing local priorities and reviving key infrastructure efforts, particularly in essential sectors such as drinking water, education, and healthcare. Strategic road networks linking vital towns and cities were also high on the agenda.
Among the highlighted proposals was the 'Schools of the Future' project, which aims to modernise the educational environment across the region. Officials also reviewed plans to complete the Al-Aziziya–Nalut road and upgrade existing hospitals and health centres.
Participants underscored the need for sustainable funding and proposed the establishment of a "Western Mountain Cities Reconstruction Fund" to support the long-term development of the area. News Tagged:
