Kitchen fire damages upscale French restaurant in Ventura County
An upscale French restaurant in a Ventura County shopping center was damaged by a fire in its kitchen, officials say.
The Ventura County Fire Department first announced crews were at the scene of a structure fire just before 6 a.m. Tuesday. The blaze was reported at Zinqué, which is located within the Westlake Commons mall in Westlake Village.

'First-arriving units reported smoke and flames coming from a free-standing restaurant, Zinqué,' VCFD said. 'Firefighters launched an aggressive attack and quickly knocked down the fire, containing it to the kitchen area.'
Video obtained by KTLA shows fire crews battling the flames as smoke rose into the sky, and a photo posted by the fire department shows firefighters on the roof of the restaurant. The extent of the damage to the kitchen was not disclosed.
