Bruce Willis' Daughter Rumer Makes 'Weird' Confession About 'Taking Baths' With Her Adult Sisters

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter, Rumer Willis, opened up about her unconventional Idaho upbringing, close bond with her sisters, and the decision to co-sleep with her daughter, Louetta. The actress defended her parenting choices, acknowledging public scrutiny due to her famous family. Despite splitting from her partner shortly after their daughter's birth, Rumer Willis has praised their strong co-parenting dynamic, which is inspired by her parents. During a conversation on the "What in the Winkler!" podcast, Rumer spoke about her childhood in Idaho. She shared that she and her sisters, Scout and Tallulah, grew up in a household where they were never alone, whether sleeping or bathing. The 36-year-old actress said, "We all still take baths together, my sisters and I. And that's just the kind of house that I grew up in. People might think that that's crazy and weird, but I don't." Rumer also revealed that she continues to share a bed with her mother, Demi Moore, now 62, who recently won a Golden Globe for her role in "The Substance." "I don't think it's weird," she explained to hosts Stacey Winkler and Zoe Winkler Reinis, per the Daily Mail. Now a mother herself, Rumer hopes to maintain the same close bond with her daughter, Louetta. She said, "Honestly, I hope [my daughter] Lou will, like, still sleep in bed with me when she's my age...I co-sleep with Louetta and have not spent a night away for her since she was born." Explaining the reasoning behind her decision to co-sleep with her daughter, Rumer shared: "I always think about it as imagine if you took a baby gorilla or a dog when it was two weeks old or three months old, and had it sleep in a different room than [its] mom." "Everyone would look at you like you were crazy. But yet we're like, 'Oh no, that kid can sleep through the night. It's got to fend for themselves, got to learn how to self-soothe,'" Rumer said. "They can't even feed themselves!" She went on to point out that even adults struggle with self-soothing, noting, "By the way, we as adults don't even know how to self-soothe. We call a friend. People drink wine, people do drugs, people eat an entire tub of ice cream." Later in the conversation, the "Doctor Odyssey" star acknowledged that, as a public figure, her parenting choices will always be under scrutiny. "At the end of the day, the unfortunate reality is that — because of who I am and because of who her grandparents are — no matter what I do, people are gonna have an opinion about [Louetta], about how I'm raising her [and] what I'm doing," Rumer admitted. Rumer, who celebrated eight years of sobriety on December 31, welcomed her daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, during her relationship with singer Derek Richard Thomas. Though the two ended their romance last August, their bond as co-parents remains strong. In an interview with People Magazine, Rumer credited her parents, Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, for setting a remarkable example of healthy co-parenting. "Derek's my best friend, and that has not changed," she said. "We have found an amazing way to keep our friendship and our loving co-parenting relationship. And I think both of us are so happy that we can have that for ourselves as well as for Lou." Reflecting on her own childhood in Idaho, Rumer praised her parents for never putting "the kids against each other," something she saw many of her friends' families struggle with. "I never had to split a holiday. We never had to split family vacations or Christmases or birthdays. And I think that a lot of the time, it's just our own ego," Rumer shared. Last year, Rumer confirmed that she and Thomas had broken up. On August 22, the actress answered fan questions in an "Ask Me Anything (AMA) Uncensored," which she hosted on her Instagram Stories. When a fan asked if she and Thomas were "still a couple," Rumer replied, "Nope I am single momming it and co-parenting." She further said she's "so grateful" for their 16-month-old daughter Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, who was born on April 18, 2023. Rumer also spoke to her fans about her love for Louetta. She wrote, "She is the best thing in my life and I am forever grateful I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life." Beyond her personal life, Rumer keeps busy with brand collaborations, sharing sponsored content with her 1.2 million Instagram followers for companies like Maev, doublesoul, Dame, Free People, Christy Dawn, Vera Bradley, Milk Teeth, Pura, Lalo, and Apolis. Last summer, she wrapped filming as horse-riding widow Katherine Atherton in Johnny Remo's "Trail of Vengeance," a western set in 1875 that has yet to land a distributor. She's also set to appear in Rohit Karn Batra's indie drama "The Gun on Second Street," tackling the issue of gun violence alongside Poppy Delevingne and Tom Arnold. Rumer first made a name for herself starring in six of her famous parents' films, including "Now and Then" (1995), "Striptease" (196), 9 "The Whole Nine Yards" (2000), "Hostage" (2005), "Empire" (2017-18), and "Air Strike" (2018).

Rumer Willis Still Bathes With Her Adult Sisters, Amongst Other Intimate Things, And People Can't Decide If It's Cozy Or Creepy

Some family traditions last a lifetime, according to Rumer Willis. During a recent interview on the What in the Winkler podcast with host Zoe Winkler Reinis, Rumer shared how her close relationship with her mother, Demi Moore, influenced her own parenting style today. The 36-year-old actor and singer shares a soon-to-be 2-year-old daughter named Louetta "Lou" Isley Thomas Willis with her ex, singer Derek Richard Thomas. Rumer is also the eldest of Bruce Willis and Demi's daughters, followed by 33-year-old Scout, and 31-year-old Tallulah. Bruce also has two other daughters with his wife, Emma Heming Willis. They've shown time and time again just how strong their family bond is, which is one of the reasons why Rumer wanted to incorporate the learnings of her upbringing into her relationship with her daughter. This included sleeping habits; Rumer revealed she's slept in the same bed as Louetta since she was born. "Honestly, I hope Lou will, like, still sleep in bed with me when she's my age," Rumer said. "I still sleep in bed with my mom, and I don't think it's weird." But the intimate details didn't stop there. Rumer went on to add that she and her sisters 'all still take baths together,' and she doesn't really care what people might think about it. 'And that's just the kind of house that I grew up in,' she explained. "People might think that that's crazy and weird, but I don't." "I always think about it as, imagine if you took a baby gorilla or a dog when it was two weeks old or three months old, and had it sleep in a different room than [its] mom," Rumer continued, doubling down on her decision to co-sleep with her toddler. "Everyone would look at you like you were crazy. But yet we're like, 'Oh no, that kid can sleep through the night. It's got to fend for themselves, got to learn how to self-soothe.' They can't even feed themselves!" "By the way, we as adults don't even know how to self-soothe. We call a friend. People drink wine, people do drugs, people eat an entire tub of ice cream." Rumer concluded by stating that she understands that people will judge her parenting style regardless of what she does, but she's come to terms with it. Some people online have already voiced their opinion on this. Here's what they're saying:

Rumer Willis and her adult sisters 'still take baths together'

Rumer Willis "still takes baths" with her adult sisters. The 36-year-old actress - whose parents are Demi Moore and Bruce Willis - has opened up about the bond she shares with her sisters Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31, as she admitted some people might think they are "crazy and weird" for their dynamic. She told the 'What in the Winkler' podcast: "We all still take baths together, my sisters and I. 'And that's just the kind of house that I grew up in. 'People might think that that's crazy and weird, but I don't.' Rumer was discussing parenting on the podcast, and revealed her "hope" that her daughter Lou - who will celebrate her second birthday on April 18 - will still be sharing a bed with her when she's in her 30s. She said: "Honestly, I hope Lou will, like, still sleep in bed with me when she's my age. I still sleep in bed with my mom, and I don't think it's weird.' The 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' star revealed she hasn't "spent a night away" from her daughter, and they still "co-sleep". She explained: 'I always think about it as, imagine if you took a baby gorilla or a dog when it was two weeks old or three months old, and had it sleep in a different room than [its] mom. "Everyone would look at you like you were crazy. But yet we're like, 'Oh no, that kid can sleep through the night. It's got to fend for themselves, got to learn how to self soothe.' "They can't even feed themselves... By the way, we as adults don't even know how to self-soothe. People drink wine, people do drugs, people eat an entire tub of ice cream.' Meanwhile, Rumer previously hit out at trolls who "sexualise" her feeding her and Richard Thomas' baby girl. Back in May 2024, she told PEOPLE magazine: "I didn't think it was that big of a thing because I grew up in a naked house. 'You know what I mean? I didn't grow up in a house where we had shame about being naked, ever. I didn't think I was posting that crazy of things even for me — I know I can be a little escándalo.' She continued: 'I'm like, 'Really? How would you feel if I told you to lock yourself in a little cubicle at the airport when you wanted to eat?' 'I'm feeding my kid. It's not sexual unless you're making it that way.'
