A parent has been charged after allegedly choking an 11-year-old boy during a junior soccer match in suburban Perth. Western Australian Police allege a physical altercation took place when a 46-year-old man from Watermans Bay approached the young Mindarie Football Club player during a game at Abbeville Park between 11am and 1pm on Sunday. Police said the 11-year-old boy did not require any medical treatment. Whitford City Football Club issued a statement on social media saying the parent of a junior player had been banned from all club activities pending the outcome of legal proceedings. 'The club is co-operating fully with the authorities,' a spokesman said. Whitfords City Football Club has banned the charged parent.
