Poole-based band set to release Iron Maiden classic cover
A POOLE-BASED band has released its own version of an Iron Maiden classic.
The Whitley Lake Band's take on Wasted Years is set to hit streaming platforms on Monday, March 3.
The song, a favourite at their open-mic nights, was originally penned by Iron Maiden's Adrian Smith after a gruelling year of touring.
The track's lyrics are said to resonate with listeners, as they reflect life's challenges and triumphs.
The Whitley Lake Band, inspired by Iron Maiden's galloping riffs, powerful vocals and guitar solos, used their open-mic night performances of Wasted Years as a base for their own interpretation.

This version of Wasted Years has become a live favourite for the band, often prompting singalongs from the crowd.
The Whitley Lake Band will perform live at The Thomas Tripp on Thursday, March 27.
The band consists of Martin Ramsay on drums, Richie Adams on guitar and vocals and Luke Parnell on bass.
