'Beta, it's time.....': Virat Kohli heartbroken reply to Harbhajan Singh's daughter when asked about his Test retirement

'Beta, it's time.....': Virat Kohli heartbroken reply to Harbhajan Singh's daughter when asked about his Test retirement New Delhi: Former Indian cricket team spinner Harbhajan Singh revealed what his daughter Hinaya had to say to him after Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket. 8-year-old Hinaya was sad like many cricket fans after Kohli shocked the world with his announcement ahead of the England Test series. Harbhajan revealed that his daughter asked him several times why Kohli was quitting the format, but the former cricketer had no answer for her. Hinaya messaged Kohli to ask the reason behind his decision and the star batsman replied 'Beta, now the time has come.' Harbhajan told Instant Bollywood, 'I tweeted and asked why, why Virat? Why did you retire from Test cricket? Even my daughter asked me, 'Papa, why did Virat retire?' She also messaged Virat, 'This is Hinaya, Virat, why did you retire?' Virat's heart sank as well. He replied with a smile, 'Beta, it's time.' He knows best.' Meanwhile, legendary spin bowler Harbhajan Singh believes that India's new Test captain Shubman Gill will have to lead from the front in the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, but the young team should not be judged so quickly. The 25-year-old Gill has been appointed the full-time captain of the Indian team for the new World Test Championship cycle starting with the tour of England next month, while Rishabh Pant will be his deputy. Harbhajan welcomed Gill's appointment as captain but said there are challenges ahead. 'Of course it is a great move, to have a young captain like Shubman Gill, who has done well in franchise cricket,' Harbhajan said during the launch of the TV show 'Who's the Boss'. He said, 'But it is going to be a tough tour, England has never been an easy tour. I hope Shubman, Rishabh Pant… it is a young team. With Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma not being there, there is suddenly a big gap in that team and that also needs to be filled, so Shubman has to step up and lead.' Harbhajan said that Gill's team should be given time to settle down and they should not be judged quickly in case they lose the series to England. He said, 'I would also like to tell people not to take hasty decisions, even if this tour is not in their favor.' Harbhajan said, 'Even if they do not win, it does not matter, they will learn from it. I am confident that all the players going on this tour will perform better.'

Shubman Gill will have to lead from front on tough England tour: Harbhajan Singh

Former spinner Harbhajan Singh has thrown his support behind newly appointed captain Shubman Gill, while cautioning that the young batter faces a steep challenge on the upcoming tour of England. With senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma unavailable, Harbhajan believes Gill must step up as a leader in what promises to be a testing just 25, Gill was named India's full-time Test captain on Saturday, with Rishabh Pant as his deputy. The England tour, starting next month, will mark the beginning of a new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle-a fresh start for a team in now steps into the forefront of leadership at a pivotal moment, as India undergoes a generational transition in both personnel and strategy. The team's failure to qualify for the 2023–2025 World Test Championship final—marked by consecutive series defeats to New Zealand at home and Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy—has sparked calls for renewal. Speaking at the launch of the TV show Who's the Boss on Sunday, Harbhajan welcomed Gill's appointment but emphasised the high expectations and tough conditions that await."Obviously, it is a great move, having a young captain like Shubman Gill who has done well in franchise cricket," Harbhajan told PTI. "But this is going to be a tough tour. England has never been an easy place to play Test cricket. I hope that Shubman and Rishabh Pant-this young team-can step up. There is no Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma, and that leaves a big gap that needs to be filled. Shubman will have to lead from the front."advertisementHarbhajan also urged fans and critics not to judge the team too quickly, stressing the importance of giving this young side time to grow."I would also like to ask people not to start judging too early-even if this tour doesn't go their way," he said. "It is okay even if they do not win; they will be learning from the experience. I believe that everyone on this tour will come back stronger."India's squad, entering a new era under Gill's leadership, carries promise but also faces uncertainty. With unfamiliar conditions and high-pressure expectations, the team's performance in England will likely shape perceptions of this next generation of Indian cricketers. Tony Danza on his character as a mob boss in "Raising Kanan" and why he still enjoys pursuing roles

Veteran actor Tony Danza says his current role as a tough-talking character as mob boss Stefano in "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" has allowed him to showcase a side of him that differs from the family-friendly persona established in classic sitcoms like "Taxi" and "Who's the Boss?" "I get to do something that I wouldn't usually get called for," Danza told "CBS Mornings." "It's toward the end of your career, and to get something like this — one of the great things is we shoot in New York. So I sleep in my own bed." The 73-year-old actor appears to relish playing against type in the series, now entering its fourth season. He said he enjoys the show's dialogue, comparing it to being in a "'40s gangster movie" with lines like "somebody's going to be wearing cement sneakers." Danza said the network has also been supportive of the show. "I can tell when I'm in a good one," he said. "This is the first time they have gone out of their way to promote it." When asked about a possible "Who's the Boss?" revival, Danza clarified it would be a sequel rather than a reboot. "It's, 'Where are these people 30 or 40 years later?' And dealing with the issues of today in a funny way." Danza also discussed his involvement with a youth organization called Stars of Tomorrow Project Inc., which recently performed at New York's Triad Theater. Drawing from his own upbringing in Brooklyn during the 1950s and '60s, he described it as "the toughest neighborhood in the city" but also "the greatest time to be alive." When asked about his decades-long acting career, Danza mentioned taking piano lessons and booking performance dates, emphasizing the importance of keeping an active mind.
