Lieutenant Penney, Deputy Ward, and Corporal Jacobson received awards for placing first in last year's USPCA National competition. Sheriff David Duke said it's always good when they can highlight these officers for all to see.
'The community can see, what they're what they're paying for through their law enforcement, whether it's a city, county, state or the good deeds that they do get to do, and they do every day that just goes. A lot of people don't know what they end up doing, that something that may really save someone's lives or change some people's lives to a to a better way,' Duke said.
Several officers were also promoted within the agency.
