Parking bans on Pittsfield streets due to ongoing construction

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Another round of street improvement projects will begin this week in the city of Pittsfield, and on-street parking will not be permitted in select areas during construction. Car enthusiasts attend annual Wilbraham Hill Climb Pittsfield officials said that a series of street improvements is scheduled to commence on Monday through Friday. Through the entirety of the week, structures will be raised on Daniels Avenue and Newell Street. Loam and seeds will also be distributed on Ridge Avenue, Orlando Avenue, Backman Avenue, and Jason Street. On Monday and Tuesday, Newell Street will undergo curbing installation. MassDOT will be conducting an additional project, in which North Street will be milled from the Lanesborough town line to the Berkshire Medical Center entrance. Structures will also be raised as part of this project. All roads undergoing improvement work will prohibit on-street parking from Monday to Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling on these roads in the upcoming week. This schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change. Updates on these projects can be found on the city of Pittsfield Facebook page.
