The Tigers got two hits from Riley Greene and a masterful pitching performance yet again from last year's AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal en route to the win.
Now 39-21 with the best record in the American League, Detroit's ascent to the top of the Majors has been a wonder to behold.
Following the series, Detroit made an announcement on a former Rule 5 draft pick who has become the Tigers' de facto closer, helping to shore up a bullpen tasked with shutting the door on opposing teams.

"Our safety vest," the Tigers' X account wrote with a red and orange safety vest emoji Sunday.
"Will Vest is your Tigers @PrimitivPerform Reliever of the Month for May," they added.

Vest compiled a 1.29 earned-run average in 14 innings of work with the Tigers during last month's games.
The 29-year-old native of Houston added a 1.14 WHIP and 15 strikeouts with just four walks during the month as the Tigers finished with the best record in Major League Baseball for the season heading into June.
Vest was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the 12th pick in the 2020 Rule 5 draft out of the Tigers' organization on Dec. 10, 2020.
He was later returned to the Tigers after he was designated by the Mariners for assignment and has become a key part of the Tigers' pitching staff at age 29.
