From the archive: Deadly revenge in Sheffield
From The Times: May 21, 1925The inquest on the body of William Francis Plommer, who was attacked by a gang of men and stabbed to death outside his own house in Attercliffe, Sheffield, was resumed yesterday. The eleven men who are accused of the murder were again present.
William Day stated that while in the company of Sam Garvin (one of the accused) and other men at the house of a man named Thompson, he heard Garvin say, 'We are going to do Jock in.' George Richard Thompson, a bookmaker, said that Sam Garvin said to him, 'If we see Jock Plommer to-night he will be for it.'
