Coleen Rooney has something to smile about! WAG leaves the gym after rival Rebekah Vardy puts her £9.7million Portuguese villa up for sale to foot the bill for Wagatha Christie trial
Coleen Rooney had something to smile about as she left a gym in Wilmslow on Tuesday following the news her rival Rebekah Vardy is selling her Portuguese villa. Rebekah, 43, and her husband Jamie, 38, are selling the abode for an optimistic £9.7million - as she foots the £4m costs bill for her ill-fated Wagatha Christie libel case. Last month, Rebekah, 43, was ordered by a judge to pay £1.27m towards rival Coleen Rooney 's legal expenses, on top of her own bill, reported to be more than £2million, from the disastrous libel claim she brought in 2022. Meanwhile, Coleen opted for a laid back look for her early morning outing as she sported a white T-shirt along with a pair of black leggings. Wrapping a matching jumper around her waist, the mother-of-four added to her look with a pair of white trainers. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Rebekah, 43, and her husband Jamie, 38, are selling the abode for an optimistic £9.7million - as she foots the £4m costs bill for her ill-fated Wagatha Christie libel case Styling her brunette locks into an updo, Coleen grabbed a cup of coffee as she made her way home. The High Court case left Rebekah's reputation 'in tatters' and had a similar effect on her 'brand' with potential advertisers. Though Jamie has continued to be one of the Premier League 's big earners, pulling in an estimated £7.3m at Leicester City last season, and now linked to a possible transfer to Manchester United, there's no doubt the family finances took a massive blow from the Wagatha scandal and its aftermath. In recent years, the Vardys have rented out their beloved villa on the exclusive golf resort of Quinta do Lago for up to £30,000 a week, but now they've reluctantly decided to put up the for sale sign. The property has been listed for sale with blue chip agents Knight Frank, with an incredible £9.7million price tag. Though prices have risen strongly in the Algarve recently, by as much as 16 per cent, according to some estimates, the Vardys' villa is definitely priced on the 'optimistic side', according to one agent speaking to MailOnline on condition of anonymity. 'It's certainly a stunning and very modern property, but there are many more traditionally-styled places in that area which some people might prefer, of similar size, but priced a lot more competitively,' he said. The villa, which has three pools, a gym, steam room and six bedrooms, overlooks the 18th green of the resort's North course. According to Knight Frank: 'This magnificent property, built over four levels, showcases meticulous attention to lifestyle details.' Other features in the four-storey home include a cinema room, roof terrace and sauna, on a plot of around 0.64 acres. The particulars add: 'In addition to the three external pools, which epitomize a contemporary lifestyle, the villa includes a central electro-chromic glass lift accessing each floor. 'The impressively landscaped gardens complement the property's style, creating a true haven for modern living. 'The villa is conveniently located within walking distance of the golf course and other renowned amenities within the Quinta do Lago resort.' In 2022 the couple had a scare when the luxury villa looked like it could be damaged by forest fires. A source close to the family told the Sun at the time: 'It's been horrifying. Their neighbours have all been evacuated and one by one residents are being told to leave their homes. In recent years, the Vardys (pictured) have rented out their beloved villa on the exclusive golf resort of Quinta do Lago for up to £30,000 a week, but now they've reluctantly decided to put up the for sale sign 'Becky can see smoke everywhere and she's terrified about the kids breathing it in. The water is also down so she's relying on bottled water which, obviously, there is only a finite amount of at home. 'Jamie and their friends and family back home have all been really worried. Things are developing by the hour but she's praying the fire brigades, who have been brilliant, can get things back under control.' Rebekah unsuccessfully sued the I'm A Celeb star in the High Court in 2022 after she was publicly accused of leaking stories about her to the press. The catalyst for the famous Wagatha Christie case was a dramatic open letter written by Coleen and posted on social media in October 2019 in which she revealed she had turned detective to figure out who had been leaking the stories to the press. Coleen publicly claimed Rebekah's account was the source behind three newspaper stories featuring fake details she had posted on her private Instagram profile - her travelling to Mexico for a 'gender selection' procedure, her planning to return to TV and the basement flooding at her home. Penning that she had a 'suspicion' of who it could be, Coleen told her millions of followers that 'to try and prove this' she 'came up with an idea'. 'I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except ONE account,' she wrote. For the next five months, she uploaded 'a series of false stories' to see if 'they made their way' into the press. The catalyst for the famous Wagatha Christie case was a dramatic open letter written by Coleen and posted on social media in October 2019 in which she revealed she had turned detective to figure out who had been leaking the stories to the press 'And you know what, they did!' she penned 'The story about gender selection in Mexico, the story about returning to TV and then the latest story about the basement flooding in my new house.' She continued to build suspense, writing: 'It's been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have been leaked, however I had to. Now I know for certain which account/individual it's come from. 'I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person had viewed them.' And then, she delivered her final iconic line: 'It's.......... Rebekah Vardy's account.' What followed was a tearful appearance from Rebekah on ITV's Loose Women in February 2020 in which claimed the stress over the dispute had caused her to have anxiety attacks so severe she 'ended up in hospital three times'. The emotional display was met by Coleen with a statement to say she did not want to 'engage in further public debate' on the matter. Four months later, in June 2020, Rebekah began legal proceedings against Coleen for libel with her lawyers alleging she had ' suffered extreme distress, hurt, anxiety and embarrassment as a result of the publication of the post and the events which followed '. At the first preliminary hearing in London's High Court in November the same year, Mr Justice Warby ruled that Coleen's famous letter 'clearly identified' Rebekah as being 'guilty of the serious and consistent breach of trust'. He concluded the 'natural and ordinary' meaning of the posts was that Rebekah had 'regularly and frequently abused her status as a trusted follower of Mrs Rooney's personal Instagram account' by secretly informing the press of Coleen's 'private posts and stories'. When the case returned to the courts in February 2022, a series of explosive messages between Rebekah and her agent Caroline Watt were revealed with Coleen's lawyers alleging they were about her. Rebekah denied that one message calling someone a 'nasty b****' was in reference to Coleen. When asked by defence lawyers to present Ms Watt's phone so they could further investigate the WhatsApp messages, they were told it had fallen into the North Sea when Ms Watt was on a boat during a holiday. Coleen was denied permission to bring a High Court claim against Ms Watt for misuse of private information to be heard alongside the libel battle as it was brought too late. Ms Watt was then dubbed not fit to give oral evidence, revoked permission for her witness statement to be used and withdrew her waiver which would have allowed journalists to say whether she was a source of the leaked stories. Coleen's barrister then told the High Court Rebekah 'appears to accept' her agent was the source of the leaked stories and argued her new statement suggested this but Rebekah claimed she 'did not authorise or condone her'. In May 2022, the women finally came face-to-face in court to give evidence as the Wagatha Christie trial began in the Royal Courts of Justice in London. Rebekah was accused in court – which she denied - of deliberately deleting WhatsApp messages central to the case as it was suggested her agent also intentionally dropped her phone in the North Sea Coleen secured her victory the next month when Mrs Justice Steyn delivered her damning verdict, dismissing the claim made by Rebekah and finding Coleen had proved the meaning of her famous accusatory letter was 'substantially true'. Rebekah was accused in court – which she denied - of deliberately deleting WhatsApp messages central to the case as it was suggested her agent also intentionally dropped her phone in the North Sea. The final judgement said swathes of Rebekah's evidence given under oath had been 'manifestly inconsistent', 'not credible' and needed to be treated with 'very considerable caution'. The judge ruled that Mrs Vardy should pay 90 per cent of Mrs Rooney's costs. Vardy was also found liable to pay costs incurred by seven journalists who were potential witnesses but did not give evidence.

Nepo baby sobs as she pleads GUILTY to being three-and-a-half times drink-driving after talks to join Love Island
NEPO baby Gabriella Bardsley sobbed as she admitted drink driving today after holding talks to join Love Island. The stunning brunette, 23, was supported by her dad - ex-Manchester United footballer Phil Bardsley - after she admitted being three-and-a-half times the alcohol limit. 9 9 Gabriella, whose mum is Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley, was arrested on May 11 behind the wheel of her Audi A3. Crewe Magistrates' Court was told how she approached the scene of a road traffic collision in Wilmslow and 'attempted to drive through the police blockade'. Charlie Hayward, prosecuting, said when officers approached her she was visibly intoxicated and 'slurring her words' and 'struggling' to stand on her feet. She refused a road-side breath test and was taken to a nearby police station and was found to have 122 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath - the UK legal limit being only 35 micrograms. The influencer, who stood in the dock in a black jacket and white pants, pleaded guilty when the charge of drink-driving was put to her. Her lawyer Gary Hughes told the court that she was of 'hitherto good character'. But they handed her an interim driving ban and she sobbed as she left court comforted by her former Sunderland defender father. Gabriella could face an unlimited fine and/or disqualification from driving when she's sentenced on July 14. Her brush with the law may spark the end of the road for her Love Island hopes. She was rumoured to be taking part in this year's reality show and had talks about joining the villa. It came after mum Tanya revealed she'd turned down producers multiple times in the past, adding: 'We do need to get her a boyfriend. Gabriella just lives in fairy land anyway.' Bosses have already been forced to boot out fellow hopeful Kyle Ashman after The Sun revealed his arrest for an alleged machete attack in February. 9 9 The 23-year-old was quizzed after masked thugs stormed a wake in Stafford and hacked at a dad with a blade. Ashman was one of two quizzed but released with no further action. Sources said the channel was unaware of the incident and he was not flagged as part of contestant checks. The victim, 38, nearly lost his arm and had to be rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. Kyle said: 'I fully co-operated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' We also revealed Dejon Noel-Williams became the second Islander to face a police probe, after he was accused of stealing a phone on a night out. The semi-pro footballer, 26, who is appearing in the new series, was interviewed after a woman's mobile was taken in London. He was quizzed by cops alongside Kettering FC footballer Harlain Mbayo, who was ordered to carry out a community resolution, which can involve an apology or compensation. The dispute was sparked over payment for food and an Uber taxi ride. Personal trainer Dejon told The Sun: 'I was never arrested. 'I voluntarily spoke to the police to clarify the truth about what happened in this incident, with no further action taken. 'To stress, my intentions here were entirely honourable and it is very upsetting to read claims that suggest otherwise.' ITV added: 'We speak to our Islanders in advance of the show in addition to rigorous background screening, including DBS checks.' 9 9 9

EXCLUSIVE Businessman who drove his Bentley while high on cocaine avoids jail after blaming new wife of 24 hours who walked out on him with £200,000
A wealthy businessman who drove his Bentley whilst eight times the drug-drive limit has been spared jail after he blamed his new wife for walking out on him after just 24 hours of marriage - along with £200,000. Father-of-one Steve Wynne, 50, had been snorting cocaine before police stopped his black 198mph Continental GT which was veering across white lines in the millionaire village of Alderley Edge, Cheshire. At the roadside the flamboyant tycoon appeared 'sallow and grey', a court heard. A snap bag containing traces of white powder was found in his pocket. Tests found Wynne had 67 micrograms of cocaine and 400 micrograms of benzoylecgonine (BZE) - the breakdown product of cocaine - per litre of blood. The legal limits are ten and 50 micrograms respectively. At the time, Wynne ran a successful kitchen design business and lived in a five-bedroomed £1.1m detached house in the upmarket 'Cheshire set' town of Wilmslow. But he told police he had suffered a severe nervous breakdown after being 'conned' by the bride whom he met had online. He alleged he had helped her set up a beauty salon business and loaned her £200,000 - but just 24 hours after their wedding she disappeared with the cash, he claimed. At Crewe magistrates court Wynne - who now lives in a rented semi-detached house - pleaded guilty to two charges of drug driving. He was fined £162, ordered to pay a surcharge of £65 and banned from driving for 12 months. The bride's name was not given in court. His firm Wilmslow Kitchen Interiors later closed with Wynne citing 'personal reasons' on Facebook. The failed drug test came after he was stopped on June 5, 2023. Police described his speech as 'slurred and broken', prosecutor Olivia Randell told the hearing, and he was arrested. The court Wynne had six unrelated previous offences on his record. Defence solicitor Lesley Herman said in mitigation: 'This is a rather sad tale really. The defendant was a successful businessman. 'He had two shops, he sold kitchens and he employed more than nine people. 'He was very successful and purchased a Bentley. 'He then met a lady online who he then got married to - but that marriage lasted a day. 'He realised that he had been conned, which is perhaps the right word, out of a large amount of money. 'She has disappeared with the money and that has coincided with him having a breakdown. 'He has lost his businesses. He has lost everything.' Wynne – said in court to be suffering mental health problems – maintains his driving that day was 'impaired by his mood rather than anything else', she added. He had found the bag with traces of cocaine in his shop and was planning to confront the person he suspected it belonged to 'as he has never been a person who takes drugs', Ms Herman said. The court heard Wynne is now receiving universal credit but his benefits are not sufficient to cover rent on his new home in Handforth. In sentencing, JP Dr John Bache told him: 'We understand the situation that you are in which is obviously very difficult.'

The 24-year-old's defence barrister told the court while the former United player had "previously used nitrous oxide", he was "not under the influence of Class C drug" at the time of the incident - but accepted the gas was being used by a passenger in the who also played on loan for Norwich City and Ipswich Town, was released by United in 2024, and is now free to resume his the sentencing hearing, Williams managed to avoid the hustle and bustle of the public area servicing the four courts on the first floor of the court building and instead was allowed to wait in a side though it is almost 17 months since his last appearance, for Ipswich in the Championship, and over three years since he last played in the Premier League for Norwich, there were still cheers for Williams from a couple of United supporters as he left the court did not speak during the hearing or when he left, although his dad complained at photographers attempting to get shots of his exit. 'I go into a mode where I just don't care' He has been described as "distant" by sources who had worked around the player during his career, someone who had emerged from a tough upbringing in Manchester but retained the "streetfighter" instinct, which was initially praised by pundits such as Gary attitude has served Williams well on the football field - but less so away from the there are no reports of of him turning up late for training or behaving particularly badly, it was felt he was always "on the edge of something" - former coaches have told BBC making the breakthrough from academy player to the first-team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019 - usurping England defender Luke Shaw - Williams was hailed in some quarters as the potenial successor to the United great went on to make 51 appearances for the club and featured in the Champions court heard his career turned around the outbreak of Covid pandemic in March himself has admitted the difficulty in trying to take part in United training sessions on Zoom. Things got worse..."I go into this mode where I just don't care. I have this switch where I don't care what happens. They [family and friends] wanted me to get back to football but they could see I'd fallen out of love with."It hurts me watching football now because I just want to be there, I just want to play. I miss being in a team, on the coach, travelling to games, having meals together and just doing things."I want to have that feeling again of winning and being around the changing room environment."This, in part, offers an explanation for his behaviour on the night of the incident which Williams accepted was "stupid", that he had no defence for and which he now Williams in court, Richard Littler said the player regretted his was also said Williams was prepared to deal with any punishment imposed by the court, which could have been an 18-month jail term."In his report, the probation officer described him as a young man who is genuine in his realisation of the gravity of his actions," said Littler."He told him it was underpinned by lack of maturity, stupidity and trying to be ostentatious."Williams admitted to the probation officer that he had "been driving like an idiot" and thought he had insurance but didn' the time, Williams had eight endorsements on his licence and had previously been disqualified under the totting up issuing his decision, Judge Eric Lamb said Williams received credit for a guilty plea but showed "deliberate disregard" for the safety of has been described to BBC Sport by several sources as a young man who was not particularly responsible or had any deep understanding of the wider demands of his the court also heard how Williams had been working with two fitness coaches, including O'Shea, in the hope of landing a new contract this summer."In the last few years, Brandon Williams has had to live with significant mental health and neurological issues," Littler said."He is in a better shape mentally and physically right now."
