MG sells 6,304 units in May 25 recording 40% growth

JSW MG Motor India reported sales of 6,304 units in May 2025, marking a 40% year-on-year growth over the 4,510 units sold in the same month last year. This surge in demand is largely attributed to the overwhelming response to the newly launched Pro variants of its electric vehicle, the company recently expanded its EV portfolio with the introduction of two new variants—Essence Pro and Exclusive Pro—under the Windsor Pro series. Equipped with a larger 52.9kWh battery pack, these variants deliver a certified range of 449km on a single charge. The top-spec Essence Pro offers premium features like Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging capabilities, elevating both safety and convenience for EV MG Windsor continues to dominate as India's best-selling electric car, cementing JSW MG Motor India's position as a serious contender in the EV space. The Windsor's success also validates the brand's innovative approach, including initiatives like Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), which offers flexible battery rental options to EV buyers. Looking ahead, the company is gearing up to launch three new models that were showcased earlier this year at the Auto Expo:The MG Cyberster, an all-electric roadster aimed at rivaling the Porsche Boxster and BMW MG M9, a luxury electric MPV set to compete with the Kia MG Majestor, a premium full-size SUV positioned above the MG parallel with its product strategy, JSW MG Motor India is enhancing its retail footprint through the MG Select premium dealership network, offering a more upscale buying experience to complement its expanding EV to Auto Today Magazine

MG to launch Windsor Pro on May 6 with bigger battery pack and more features

JSW MG Motor India has announced the upcoming launch of the MG Windsor Pro, an upgraded variant of its best-selling electric vehicle, the Windsor EV, set to debut on May 6, 2025. The Windsor Pro promises significant enhancements in battery range, technology, safety, and interior design, building on the success of the original Windsor Pro is expected to feature a larger 50.6kWh battery pack, compared to the current 38kWh, offering a claimed range of up to 460 km (CLTC cycle). The electric motor will likely retain the 134bhp and 200Nm output, powering the front wheels. A key addition is the inclusion of an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, addressing a gap in the original model, alongside a revamped interior with black leather upholstery, faux wood trim, and copper Windsor Pro will feature the same 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, and aero-lounge rear seats with a 135-degree recline. Additional convenience features and improved safety systems are also anticipated, enhancing its appeal as a premium family EV. The Windsor Pro is expected to be priced above the current Windsor's range of Rs. 13.49 lakh to Rs. 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings and pricing details will be revealed at the launch. The vehicle will continue to offer the Battery as a Service (BaaS) Windsor EV has maintained its position as the top-selling electric car in India for seven consecutive months. While the automaker did not disclose the specific sales figure for April 2025, it revealed that the Windsor EV has surpassed 20,000 units in total sales since its in India in September 2024, the MG Windsor EV began its sales in October April 2025, JSW MG reported total wholesale figures of 5,829 units, marking a 23.36% year-on-year increase compared to the 4,725 units sold in the same month last to Auto Today Magazine
