Two-vehicle crash in Thamesville sends one to the hospital with serious injuries

An investigation is underway following a two-vehicle crash in Thamesville that left one person with serious injuries. Around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers were called to a crash involving an SUV and a pickup truck at the intersection of Selton Line and Victoria Road. An investigation revealed that the SUV was travelling westbound on the Selton Line, while the pickup truck was travelling southbound on Victoria Road when the two vehicles collided in the center of the intersection. Police said the driver of the SUV, a 28-year-old Windsor man, and two other passengers were not injured. The driver of the pickup truck, a 32-year-old man from Thamesville, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The CKPS is currently investigating the collision. Three suspects arrested in Chatham theft

Three suspects have been arrested following a theft in Chatham over the weekend. On Saturday just after 8 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a retail store. The complainant told police two people left the building with a large quantity of items but were still in the parking lot. When officers arrived, they found a 56-year-old Windsor man in the parking lot. He was arrested on scene as a woman, 44 years old also from Windsor, ran. She was found nearby and was arrested. As a further investigation was conducted, a third suspect, a 31-year-old woman from Chatham-Kent, was found with stolen items. As a result, all three suspects are facing charges. The Windsor man has been charged with theft under $5,000, obstructing public or peace officer, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The Windsor woman has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The Chatham-Kent woman is facing charges for obstructing a public or peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The CKPS said video surveillance confirmed the suspects' involvement, including the vehicle used.
