Want the 5-star Saatva Classic but have a smaller budget? 3 alternatives we recommend in Memorial Day sales

If you're looking for a new mattress this Memorial Day you've probably come across the Saatva Classic. And for good reason. This luxury hotel-style hybrid is our favorite mattress at Tom's Guide and with $400 off handcrafted mattresses at Saatva, now is the time to buy. However, the Classic is one of the best luxury mattresses you can buy online which means it comes at a premium price tag. In the current Saatva mattress sale a queen is $1,699 (was $2,099) — although that does include a full year's trial, a forever warranty and free white glove delivery. Having tested the Saatva Classic I think this mattress is worth the money. The support is exceptional and the high-quality build makes it an investment in your sleep health. But if your budget doesn't stretch to the Classic, I've rounded up three of the best Saatva alternatives to browse in the Memorial Day mattress sale. They're not the all-round package of the Classic but they do offer a similar feel for less... Saatva Classic Mattress: twin was $1,399 now $999 at SaatvaThe Saatva Classic is a five-star mattress and it delivers a feel comparable to the mattresses used in hotels. That's luxurious, supportive and, as our lead tester put it, like getting a "full-body massage." We awarded full marks all-round in our Saatva Classic mattress review and as it comes in three firmness levels and two heights, it suits almost everyone (although sleepers with a heavy build should consider the WinkBed below.) In the Saatva Memorial Day sale there's $400 off all mattresses with our links, reducing a queen to $1,699 (was $2,099.) We don't think you'll get a better price than this so if you're watching your budget, now is the time to buy. Our review: ★★★★★User score: ★★★★★ (4,000+ reviews) Short answer: yes. The Saatva Classic is the best mattress we've tested and it's held that position for a while now as nothing has been able to topple it. We recently re-tested the Saatva Classic in a Luxury Firm feel and found it even better than we remembered. Consequently, we increased our testing scores for motion isolation and temperature regulation. I'd been writing about the Saatva Classic mattress for over a year before I finally got a chance to test and let me say, my expectations were high. The Saatva Classic not only met them but surpassed them, supporting the natural curve of my spine while cushioning my shoulders and hips. And the edge support is incredible — these are the strongest sides I've ever sat on. If you have the budget for it, I think the Saatva Classic is absolutely worth the investment. The durable and high quality build means that while it's pricey, you should get many years of use out of it. 1. The WinkBed: twin was $1,149 now $849 at WinkBedLike the Saatva Classic, the WinkBed is a luxury handcrafted mattress that focuses on support and is available in multiple firmness levels. It does come out on top in one key area: the WinkBed is available in a Plus option, for sleepers with a larger build. Overall, our WinkBed mattress review team found the Luxury Firm a close competitor of the Classic, although it lacked the stand-out performance scores of the Saatva (so you can expect more heat retention and weaker edges.) The $300 off WinkBed mattress sale is always running and it reduces a queen to $1,499 — $200 less than the Classic. Like Saatva, WinkBed offers a lifetime warranty, although only standard delivery is included and the trial lasts 120 nights. Our review: ★★★★½User score: ★★★★★ (9,000+ reviews) 2. DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress: twin $399 at DreamCloudWe often recommend the DreamCloud Hybrid as a budget-friendly alternative to the Classic mattress. I've got my hands on both and I can confirm that the quilted cover and firm spring support delivers similar full-body relief to the Saatva, as noted in our DreamCloud mattress review. It doesn't have the edge strength of the Saatva Classic (nor the luxury finish) and with just one medium-firm feel available, it's not as widely appealing as the Classic. However, a queen is exceptional value for money at $649 and comes with a full year's trial and lifetime warranty. If the Saatva Classic is our top-rated bed overall, the DreamCloud is our favorite mattress in a box. Our review: ★★★★½User score: ★★★★½ (9,000+ reviews) 3. Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid Mattress: twin was $932 now $652.40 at Brooklyn BeddingThe CopperFlex line from Brooklyn Bedding is designed as "affordable luxury" — I got a chance to try it out for our CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress review and it does live up to its promise. With thick cushioning providing pressure relief for side sleepers and a heat-wicking cover comparable to the best cooling mattresses, the CopperFlex Hybrid doesn't have the specialized support of the Saatva Classic but it's a good alternative on a budget. There's 30% off right now in the Brooklyn Bedding mattress sale which is the best deal you'll get — a queen is now $932.40 (was $1,332) with a 120-night trial and lifetime warranty. Our review: ★★★★½User score: ★★★★½ (500+ reviews) More top sales to consider

The biggest discount you'll get on the Saatva Classic is back — why you should buy this 5-star luxury mattress before Memorial Day

Saatva's flagship Classic mattress is a luxury hybrid innerspring with the comfort and support you'd expect from a five-star hotel mattress. Our Managing Editor and Certified Sleep Science Coach found the Classic delivered "phenomenal back support," and with our semi-exclusive link you can save $400 on the Classic at Saatva in the early access Memorial Day sale. Available in three feels and two heights, the Saatva Classic can be customized for most sleep needs, while the head-to-toe support makes it a top choice for sleepers with back pain. The Memorial Day mattress sales are one of the best times to buy a luxury mattress for less and Saatva's $400 off sale matches the discount we tracked over Black Friday 2024, reducing a queen Classic mattress to $1,699 (was $2,099.) That's only $4 more than the lowest price we've seen this year and we thinks it's the best deal you're going to get on our favorite mattress of 2025. Here's why... Saatva Classic Mattress: queen was $2,099 now $1,699 at SaatvaEarning full marks for support and comfort in our Saatva Classic Mattress review, our biggest fault with the Classic was a $99 returns fee. A minor issue and one that's easy to overlook when you're enjoying the luxury feel of the Classic. Our lead tester experiences back and hip pain but with the Classic keeping her spine in correct alignment that problem was "eliminated." The breathable design keeps temperatures even (no sweaty nights, even in the height of summer) while edge strength is the best we've tested — you can sit, lie or push against the sides and never lose support. We've tracked Saatva mattress sales for years and it's rare to see more than $300 off the Classic, so this $400 off sale saves you at least an extra $100 ($200, for a twin size.) We predict this early access Saatva Memorial Day sale will be the biggest discount you see on the Classic, so don't wait to shop. Our review: ★★★★★User score: ★★★★★ (4,000+ reviews) The Saatva Classic is our favorite hybrid mattress this year. We tested the Luxury Firm feel and found it comfortable for all sleep positions but with two other firmnesses available, it's a mattress with a wide appeal. Light side sleepers should consider the added cushioning of the Plush Soft, while some stomach and back sleepers will prefer the Firm. The only sleepers we don't recommend the Classic for are heavier couples — the Classic has a 600lbs weight limit. The WinkBed Plus is a good alternative and at $1,699 for a queen at WinkBed, falls into the same price bracket. As our favorite mattress, we keep a close eye on Saatva sales prices throughout the year. The current $400 off deal is the best discount on the Classic we've seen in months and matches the Black Friday deal... although not the price. In November 2024, a queen Classic sold for $1,695 in the sale; it's now $1,699. That's due to an MSRP rise, so we doubt you'll see that lower price again. Saatva also offers the best benefits in the online mattress market. Each Classic mattress comes with a 365-night sleep trial to test your bed at home, a lifetime warranty and free white glove delivery including old mattress removal. DreamCloud Premier Hybrid Mattress: queen $949 at DreamCloudWe think the Saatva Classic is worth the money at full MSRP but if your budget doesn't stretch that far, the DreamCloud Premier is a strong alternative. Our DreamCloud Premier Hybrid Mattress review team found it dished out "luxury comfort at a competitive mid-range price." Only available in one firmness level, the DreamCloud Premier lacks the diverse appeal of the Classic but the medium-firm build is something of a crowd-pleaser. The benefits aren't quite as good (only standard delivery is included) but you do get a 365-night trial and lifetime warranty.

I'm a sleep coach — the best mattress I've ever tested is $400 off ahead of Memorial Day sales

I slept on the Saatva Classic Luxury Innerspring Hybrid for over seven months and rate it as the comfiest mattress I've tested to date, and because it comes in three feels and two heights it can be tailored to suit most sleepers. Now is a great time to buy it as with our exclusive discount you can save $400 on all sizes of the Saatva Classic at Saatva, reducing a queen to $1,699 (was $2,099). That's an extra $100 saving on the queen Classic and an extra $200 saving on the twin Classic (now $999) with our discount, compared to the brand's general public sale where you'll only save up to $300 on the largest sizes. $1,699 for a queen matches the cheapest price we tracked on the Saatva Classic last year, but it was $4 cheaper ($1,695 for a queen) in this year's Presidents' Day sales. Here's a closer look at the current deal and how it compares to the best Memorial Day mattress sales that are live right now. Saatva Classic: twin was $1,399 now $999 at Saatva My team and I rate the Saatva Classic as the very best mattress of 2025 thanks to its outstanding pressure relief, lower back support, and durable build. I slept on this hotel-style bed for seven months to produce our Saatva Classic mattress review and found it breathable and instantly comfy. Normally the Saatva mattress sale will save you $200-$300 off the Classic, but our discount will save you $400 on every size – that's an extra $200 on the twin. A queen costs $1,699 (was $2,099), which is only $4 more than it sold for during Presidents' Day ($1,695). I don't expect it to go that cheap again when this year's Saatva Memorial Day sale starts so there's no reason to delay if you want to buy the Classic review: ★★★★★ User score: ★★★★★ (4,000+ reviews) Pregnancy left me with lasting hip and back pain that ruined my sleep, but I didn't feel any of that when sleeping on the Saatva Classic. It was instantly comfortable with no break-in period required, unlike many other mattresses I've slept on during my career. While we crowned it as this year's best-rated hybrid mattress thanks to a superb performance (we awarded it a 5 out of 5 test score) and highly customizable design, it still isn't perfect for everybody. It won't support couples who weigh over 600lbs combined, so consider The WinkBed Plus (from $1,049 at WinkBed) or the Saatva HD (from $1,599 at Saatva) instead as both of those support up to 500lbs per sleeper. I slept on a queen size 11.5' Luxury Firm Saatva Classic and recommend it to couples and average weight sleepers. The Plush option should be comfortable for light weight side sleepers, while the Firm option should suit heavier people and those who like harder beds. There is zero difference in terms of comfort or support between the 11.5' and 14.5' Saatva Classic, but the 14.5' model is not compatible with adjustable beds. All Saatva mattresses come with a lifetime warranty, a year's sleep trial and free Saatva White Glove Delivery that includes installation of your Classic mattress and removal of your old bed as long as you arrange it in advance. The Saatva Classic is worth every cent at $1,699 for a queen. In fact, based on its performance, build quality and benefits, I'd argue it's worth every cent even at full MSRP – you'd pay much more for a comparable handcrafted luxury mattress sold in store. However not all of us have the budget for a Saatva Classic, so here's what I recommend for smaller budgets… DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid: twin $399 at DreamCloud I'm re-testing this affordable hybrid and while it takes a little breaking in, The DreamCloud offers a high amount of comfort and support for the lower price – it's over $1,000 cheaper than the Saatva Classic. The DreamCloud isn't handcrafted like the Saatva, but I was impressed with how expensive it looked considering it costs $699 for a queen. The heavier sleepers on our testing panel rate it as a true medium-firm for heavier bodies, but the lighter weight sleepers (130lbs or under) on our testing panel said it felt firm. If you love soft mattresses and have the money, pick the Plush Saatva Classic. Otherwise the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid is comfy, supportive for a lot of sleepers, and fantastic value. Last month it dropped to $649 for a queen in the DreamCloud mattress sale but I'd be surprised if that flash sale returned for Memorial review: ★★★★½ User score: ★★★★½ (9,000+ reviews)

The 7 Best Innerspring Mattresses, According To Rigorous Testing

The best innerspring mattresses blend the sturdiness, support and responsiveness of traditional coil beds with modern comfort innovations, eliminating the need for the cumbersome box-spring-and-mattress combo. After testing dozens of coil-based beds, our favorite is the Saatva Classic. It pays homage to the classic coil bed with its dual-innerspring design and also features multiple firmness levels, different height options and enhanced lumbar features throughout. The Saatva Classic is among the best innerspring mattresses on the market, alongside beds from ... More DreamCloud, Leesa and more. These days, most beds with coils fall within the hybrid mattress category because they usually have some type of foam, wool or cotton comfort layer for extra cushion. However, the mattresses named on our list like the Saatva Classic and WinkBed have strong coil designs and supportive profiles that are comparable to the feel of a traditional innerspring bed. See our choices below, all of which our team of experienced editors and writers has tested. Saatva Forbes Vetted Forbes Vetted ratings are based on thorough evaluations by our editorial team to help you choose the best products with confidence. Type: Innerspring hybrid | Firmness: Plush soft, luxury firm or firm | Delivery: Free white glove delivery (arrives flat) | Trial: 365 nights | Warranty: Lifetime Best for: Skip if: Upgrade your sleep with the Saatva Classic, a mattress that offers top-notch support and comfort with two layers of innersprings and a list of lumbar reinforcements (which is why it also earned the best mattress for back pain title). Its coils take up most of the bed, which helps explain its prominent innerspring mattress feel—lifted, responsive and supportive. Though, it doesn't compromise on comfort. 'I feel supported and relieved in all the right places,' says a team member who tested the luxury firm model of the Saatva Classic against 28 other beds. 'Specifically, my trunk has enough room to make my body alignment feel natural. I also feel like my shoulders can relax enough without dipping back, contrary to many firm mattresses that tend to give my shoulders and upper back no relief at all.' A thick layer of steel sits near the base of the mattress, while a thinner microcoil layer is sandwiched in between the bed's zoned quilted pillow top that one tester says 'helps balance out the density of the firm mattress beneath' and a memory foam lumbar support layer. It also contains a patented spinal wire as an additional way to promote alignment. You have the choice between three firmness levels, but side sleepers should consider the plush soft while back and stomach sleepers may like the luxury firm or firm best. See more about this bed's highlights and potential drawbacks in our full Saatva Mattress review. Brooklyn Bedding Forbes Vetted Forbes Vetted ratings are based on thorough evaluations by our editorial team to help you choose the best products with confidence. Type: Hybrid | Firmness: Soft, medium or firm | Delivery: Free shipping | Trial: 120 nights | Warranty: 10 years Best for: Skip if: If you're searching for the best innerspring mattress you can get for your money, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature fits the bill and is highlighted in our roundup of top-rated affordable mattresses. I tested this mattress for over a month in my own bedroom, and as I said in my Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid Mattress review: 'In a sea full of online mattresses, I think of the Brooklyn Bedding Signature as like the Toyota of beds: reliable, reputable and comfortable, without having to be the high-end pick.' It doesn't come with many frills and thrills like the Saatva Classic, but it does offer versatility and comfort at a competitive price, and you're able to upgrade to a cooling cover if you're prone to sleeping hot. It comes in three firmness levels: soft, medium or firm and an array of sizes (including RV beds and non-standard dimensions). Our testers and I tried the medium model, which is an accommodating pick for most sleeping positions; it earned a 7.5 out of 10 for side sleeping, 8.5 for back sleeping and 8 for stomach sleeping. It features a layer of pocketed coils for excellent edge support and adaptability for any sleeping position. Comfort layers consist of gel-infused TitanFlex polyfoam (similar in feel to latex) and VariFlex polyfoam, offering body contouring and pressure relief without excessive sinking. Avocado Green Mattress Forbes Vetted Forbes Vetted ratings are based on thorough evaluations by our editorial team to help you choose the best products with confidence. Type: Organic hybrid | Firmness: Firm, medium or plush | Delivery: Free shipping | Trial: 365 nights | Warranty: 25 years Best for: Skip if: Our pick as the best organic mattress available, the Avocado Green Mattress can suit a variety of sleepers' needs. From cover to base, it's made with natural, organic and eco-friendly materials for a greener and cleaner sleep. 'I appreciate how every part of this bed is made with sustainability in mind, and I can see that being a big draw for eco-minded sleepers or sleepers with allergies,' says one of our testers who tried the firmest Avocado Green model. The firm model has the most innerspring mattress-like feel, but it's most ideal for back and stomach sleepers who want a bed with a lifted, supportive profile. The medium and plush options are better for side and combination sleepers who require a bit more cushion and give because they contain more latex comfort foam. However, the softer the mattress, the higher the price tag. Inside the Avocado Green sits a recycled, pocketed steel coil system with seven zones (compared to the average three- or five-zone design). They're made to be softer where your body needs more pressure relief and firmer where you need more support. It also contains GOLS-certified latex foam and GOTS-certified New Zealand wool, which is finished with a soft and breathable organic cotton cover. 'The Avocado Green keeps my hips lifted and in line with my shoulders, while the latex and thick cover provide a gentle touch,' says one Forbes Vetted tester. For more insights into testing data and our thoughts on this organic bed, see our full Avocado Green Mattress review. DreamCloud Forbes Vetted Forbes Vetted ratings are based on thorough evaluations by our editorial team to help you choose the best products with confidence. Type: Hybrid | Firmness: Medium-firm | Delivery: Free shipping | Trial: 365 nights | Warranty: Lifetime Best for: Skip if: For a plush and luxe feel that simultaneously doesn't let your spine sag into the mattress, the DreamCloud Premier Rest Hybrid is a match for all kinds of sleepers. During our testing, we found it's supportive and soft enough for most sleeping positions. Although the brand rates it as medium-firm, our team feels it's much softer. One person says, 'The pillow top cradles my shoulders and hips really nicely and relieves pressure along my sides,' while another calls it 'incredibly comfortable for a stomach sleeper.' She adds, 'The cushioned top and the soft give allow you to feel like you're floating when you're lying on your stomach.' This mattress is also a great pick for couples. Forbes Vetted director of partnerships Madeline Kaufman says in her DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress review, 'My husband shifting around and waking me up during the night was definitely a concern when moving in [together].' She continues, 'I've been so impressed with how well the Premier Rest absorbs his movements—they don't wake me up (which is what usually happens on other mattresses).' She also says that it has a softer feel than advertised, but it 'does not have a sinking feeling by any means.' Leesa Forbes Vetted Forbes Vetted ratings are based on thorough evaluations by our editorial team to help you choose the best products with confidence. Type: Hybrid | Firmness: Medium-firm | Delivery: Free shipping | Trial: 100 nights | Warranty: Lifetime limited Best for: Skip if: The Leesa Legend Chill uses both 8-inch coils and microcoils (less than an inch) for maximum support, and it's designed with hot sleepers in mind as it has a phase change cover that pulls heat away from your body and evenly disperses it through the mattress. In combination with its dual-coil layers that promote airflow and gel-infused foam for cooling relief, this innerspring mattress helps keep you comfortable even when temps start to soar. I tested the Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid for months before I moved it into my guest bedroom, and it was a nice aid for my husband and me (we're both hot sleepers). In addition to being cooling, it also offers great ease of movement and edge support for couples who share a mattress with a partner. With a medium-firm profile, this mattress is most ideal for back, stomach and combination sleepers. I think the majority of side sleepers would prefer a softer feel. See more of my thoughts in my full Leesa Legend Chill Mattress review. WinkBeds Forbes Vetted Forbes Vetted ratings are based on thorough evaluations by our editorial team to help you choose the best products with confidence. Type: Hybrid | Firmness: Soft, luxury firm, firm or plus | Delivery: Free shipping | Trial: 120 nights | Warranty: Lifetime Best for: Skip if: The WinkBed is among the most comfortable beds for sleepers who crave the plush, cushy and airy feel of a thick pillow top mattress. It used to have two coil layers with a feel similar to the Saatva, but it became more lush and cushy when the brand replaced the top microcoil layer with comfortable foam slabs. Underneath its foam layers is a zoned pocketed coil layer that provides extra support beneath the lumbar region and is reinforced along the edges for a stronger perimeter. With its sturdy construction and burly and fluffy Euro pillow top, this is an innerspring mattress that strikes a balance between supportive and pressure relieving. 'The pillow top definitely gives it more of a pillowy-soft feel, but it still feels supportive overall," says one of our testers. The soft model is the most plush and is ideal for side sleepers or people who weigh under 150 pounds. If you're a combination sleeper or someone who wants a balance between soft and firm, the medium firmness level is the best choice. Sleepers weighing more than 250 pounds should choose the plus model for more support. You can learn more in our full WinkBed Mattress review. Brooklyn Bedding Forbes Vetted Forbes Vetted ratings are based on thorough evaluations by our editorial team to help you choose the best products with confidence. Type: Hybrid | Firmness: Firm | Delivery: Free shipping | Trial: 120 nights | Warranty: 10 years Best for: Skip if: A regular hybrid mattress performs just fine for heavier body types, but the Titan Plus, a bed designed for plus-size sleepers, is a premium choice if you're looking for superior support. It holds 500 pounds on each side, or 1,000 pounds total, and is among the firmest beds Forbes Vetted editors and I have tested. It has a lifted feel that's reminiscent of traditional innerspring beds, but as one plus-size tester says, 'It has enough softness to where it wasn't uncomfortable.' This makes it a good choice for back, stomach and combination sleepers who want proper support and pressure relief. There's a comfort foam layer that's designed to be sag-proof, along with a core of individually wrapped coils for ample support and motion isolation. Our team of seven plus-size testers rated it a 9.5 out of 10 for motion isolation and an 8.5 out of 10 for edge support. The high-density foam base reinforces the coils to prevent them from buckling under pressure. Everything is topped off by a 1-inch quilted top, but you can add a GlacioTex cooling cover if you tend to overheat at night. For a slightly softer touch, upgrade to the Titan Plus Luxe. It has a medium-firm feel for more pronounced contouring that's better suited for side sleepers or couples with different body types who share a mattress. At Forbes Vetted, we understand the importance of a good night's sleep. Browse our library of sleep and mattress articles that house our firsthand experience with sleep product testing and meticulously researched guides for better rest. Our editors and writers have extensive experience testing beds and know what to look for when deciding on the best innerspring mattresses. Here is how they narrowed down beds for this roundup. As you have probably gathered, some mattresses are better for your specific needs than others—beds aren't usually a one-size-fits-all deal. When you're making an investment on a mattress and spending nearly $1,000 or more, it's important that you find it comfortable, accommodating and worth the price tag. This is one of the most important factors to consider when you're buying a new mattress. Beds range from soft to firm and many fall somewhere in between. Innerspring mattresses are great for support and spinal alignment, but they may not be optimal if you want a mattress that completely deadens movement. Mattresses with two layers of coils like the Saatva Classic and Leesa Legend Chill are especially responsive because there are extra springs. For those who co-sleep with a restless partner or have a different sleep schedule than their significant other, consider a softer innerspring mattress that's better at absorbing motion, or see our list of the best memory foam mattresses. Hate the stuck feeling of being in a foam mattress? Although motion isolation isn't innerspring mattresses' strong suite, ease of movement certainly is. 'Springs have give and bounce when one gets in and out of bed, which would be similar to the advantages of playing basketball on a hardwood floor that imparts a small amount of give after impact versus a concrete slab,' says Gerling. 'Getting in and out of a bed and changing positions in a hybrid bed that has springs generally adds shock absorption and comfort.' Combination sleepers fare well with a responsive profile, but so does 'anyone with fragile bones and painful joints,' says Gerling, as they don't have to exert as much energy and effort when trying to switch positions. There are generally three types of innersprings that are commonly used in mattress constructions. We find the Saatva Classic is the best spring mattress for most people because it comes in three firmness and height levels so you can tailor it to your comfort and space. Other perks include free white glove delivery, a 365-night trial period and a supportive design to alleviate back and joint pain. If you're working with a smaller budget, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is a sound alternative to the Saatva Classic. Innerspring mattresses are a good choice for those who like to sleep on top of their bed, rather than in it. The responsive surface of an innerspring mattress appeals to all sleeping positions, but especially combination sleepers who favor beds with good ease of movement. Hot sleepers should also consider an innerspring mattress. The coils help with airflow, while a lack of memory foam means heat is less prone to trapping. Innerspring mattresses can help those with back pain sleep more soundly—particularly if they use pressure-relieving pocketed springs. Several of the innerspring and hybrid mattress options on our list feature a targeted lumbar zone to relieve strain on the lower back.

Save Up To 60% With The Best Mattress Sales From Helix, Nectar And More

Buying a new bed is a big investment, so our deals editors scoped out the best mattress sales to help you save. We track mattress prices all year long, and right now, you'll find plenty of top beds that have been heavily discounted for spring. Some of the best discounts we found include up to 60% off beds from popular brands like DreamCloud and Nectar, including our favorite memory foam mattress, the Nectar Premier. Better yet, many of this week's best sales include deals on sleep editor-approved beds featured in our mattress shopping guides. Whether you're on the hunt for the perfect mattress for side sleepers or a mattress for chronic back pain, we rounded up picks for a variety of sleep needs. If your bedding has also seen better days, tons of bedding retailers are also hosting sales too—like Brooklinen, where you can save 25% sitewide. Below, we've outlined all of the best deals to help you upgrade your sleep setup. After testing dozens of beds, our sleep editors (who also happen to be certified sleep science coaches) named 12 models the best mattresses of 2025. And many of their picks are currently on sale—as well as options from some of our other shopping guides. Here are some of the best options at a glance. Mattress and sleep editor McKenzie Dillon found this newly updated mattress to be 'soft and marshmallowy, and a bit more responsive to pressure than the previous Nectar Premier model.' It also offers excellent motion isolation and a lifetime warranty. If you're looking for an affordable memory foam design, we think it's a great option, especially at this price. More Deal Information: Although this discounted price has remained steady, Nectar increased the original price of this mattress—making the overall percentage off look higher. Our sleep editors were impressed by the WinkBed's plush Euro pillow top and its ability to deliver pressure relief without making you feel like you're sinking. It comes in three firmness levels (our sleep editors recommend side sleepers opt for the medium or soft models), offers excellent motion isolation and doesn't sleep quite as warm as the average memory foam mattress. More Deal Information: This is a standard discount offered by WinkBeds. Score a highly rated, pressure-relieving mattress for $699 with this Cocoon sale. 'The Cocoon Chill provides all the features people love about memory foam, from its pressure-relieving feel to its motion isolating abilities, without retaining heat,' says Dillon. We recommend the hybrid iteration for sleepers around 230 pounds or more, but keep in mind that it is slightly more expensive than the classic memory foam option above. More Deal Information: This discount price has remained steady for a few months now. For those looking for something supportive and firm, our sleep editors recommend this Plank mattress. Senior mattress and sleep editor Bridget Chapman says it's the firmest bed she's tested and that it 'offers exceptional back support and promotes neutral spinal alignment.' It's also flippable with two firmness levels and one of few beds endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association. More Deal Information: This matches the deal we saw on this bed last month. If you're seeking a comfortable and budget-friendly design, our sleep editors recommend the Bear Original. Our testers thought it did a great job isolating motion and that the bed fell around the medium-firm range on the mattress scale, which typically best accommodates back and stomach sleepers as well as some combination sleepers. More Deal Information: This price has remained steady since mid-March, but is slightly more than the price we saw earlier this year when Bear offered a 40% discount. Side sleepers on the hunt for a good memory foam mattress should consider this Layla model. It offers a flippable design, so you can try out different firmness levels, and is made of copper-infused foam to help regulate temperature throughout the night. That said, it's worth noting that our testers said they 'wouldn't consider it actively cooling.' More Deal Information: This deal matches the one Layla offered in February and March. The Helix Midnight Luxe is at the top of our list for the best mattresses of 2025. Our sleep editors say that it's great for side and combination sleepers who prefer a bed with a medium feel. 'If you're against memory foam mattresses but want a more plush feel, I think the Helix Midnight Luxe will be especially appealing for you,' Dillon explains. More Deal Information: This mattress was just on sale for 25% off last week—and will likely be discounted by at least 25% for Memorial Day if you're willing to wait a couple of weeks. If you suffer from joint or back pain, this DreamCloud mattress is an excellent option. It's firm enough to offer plenty of support but has a plush top for a little extra comfort. 'I think the Premier Rest hits that sweet spot of not being too soft nor too firm. It has a very luxurious, plush feel that's slightly softer than the other two DreamCloud models,' says Chapman. More Deal Information: This price is $100 lower than the one offered in March. This hybrid model from Brooklyn Bedding delivers excellent temperature regulation and accommodates just about any sleeping style. It's available in three firmness levels, isolated movement well and, according to our tester, 'has a true cool-to-the-touch sensation that many brands advertise but don't deliver on.' More Deal Information: This is a standard offer on this bed from Brooklyn Bedding. While the average mattress supports up to 200 to 250 pounds per side, the Helix Plus can hold up to 500 pounds per side (1,000 pounds total). It has a medium-firm construction, but executive strategy editor Lindsay Boyers says, 'it felt plusher than most bed-in-a-box mattresses I've tried.' More Deal Information: This bed was recently on sale for 25% off, so consider waiting until Memorial Day weekend if you want to pick it up for a slightly lower price. My personal mattress, the Saatva Classic employs both a classic innerspring design with a luxe European-style pillow top. It comes in three firmness levels and includes a generous warranty period and free white glove delivery—a major bonus for anyone who's ever struggled with what to do with their old mattress. More Deal Information: This Saatva bed is often on sale for this price. Side sleepers typically need a mattress that cushions their hips and shoulders. During our sleep team's testing, this model proved to have superior cushion and pressure relief for side sleepers of various body sizes. 'It's difficult to find a mattress that doesn't cause at least some discomfort around my shoulder after lying on it for a while, but I haven't felt that at all with this one.' says Chapman, who tested the plush Nolah Evolution 15 Mattress in her home for over a month. More Deal Information: Nolah frequently offers 35% off its mattresses, so you may want to hold out for a bigger sale. The brand also increased the original price of this bed recently. According to Dillon, the Birch Natural Mattress 'delivers a true latex foam feel that makes you feel lifted and supported with just enough cushion from the wool batting to provide ample comfort and pressure relief.' It's especially nice for combination sleepers who need a versatile medium-firm feel to accommodate their changing sleeping positions. More Deal Information: This discount matches the deal we saw in March. Pressure relief is one of the most important features a side sleeper should seek from their mattress to help minimize stress on the hips and shoulders. Updates writer Alex Garret says, 'Amerisleep Organica is the most ideal organic option for avid side sleepers because it combines coils with wool and Talalay latex comfort layers to provide more pressure relief than you'd expect from a latex hybrid bed.' More Deal Information: Amerisleep regularly offers $500 off its beds, so this exclusive reader discount is a nice chance to save a little extra. If you have a lot of joint or back pain, we recommend the Nolah Natural mattress as it's a bit softer than your average latex foam design. 'The Nolah Natural reminds me of one of my favorite beds that no longer exists," says Dillon. 'It offers a bouncy, supportive latex foam feel with more pressure relief and cushion than other models I've tested—almost like it's a blend of memory foam and latex foam.' More Deal Details: Nolah periodically offers 35% discounts, so it may be worth waiting for a major sale to get the extra savings. This PlushBeds design is perfect for sleepers seeking a little extra luxury. Chapman, who tested the medium model of the Botanical Bliss, says, 'It felt a little firmer at first, but as I settled into the bed, the layers cradled my joints—this mix of support and pressure relief felt especially comfortable back sleeping." More Deal Details: PlushBeds doesn't run sitewide promotions as often as some mattress brands. However, it increased the original price of this bed in March, making this deal appear slighty larger than it really is. Shopping for a new mattress can feel overwhelming—it's a large purchase and an item that you'll ideally use nightly for years to come. There are a few important factors to consider that can help you find the perfect fit. Your sleeping style makes a huge difference in the type of mattress that will work best for you. For instance, side sleepers typically prefer softer models that provide ample pressure relief, while stomach sleepers will benefit from the all-around support of a firmer bed. Mattresses come in a variety of styles, like memory foam and innerspring. Knowing the type of mattress you want can help narrow down your search significantly. As with any major purchase, budget is a major deciding factor. Establish your budget early to help narrow your options and avoid overspending. After all, you won't be resting much easier on your new mattress if you feel like you've spent significantly more than you wanted. Quality bedding is the perfect finishing touch on your new mattress. The start of a new season is also a great time to update your sheets for the weather, swapping out those thicker layers for something a little breezier. Some popular bedding brands are hosting spring events alongside mattress retailers this month; these the best sales we've spotted so far. If you want more in-depth advice, or you're looking to browse mattresses based on a specific concern, check out some of our curated mattress buying guides to learn more about which models might work best for you. If you're determined to get the best deal on a new mattress, we recommend marking your calendar and exercising some patience. Mattresses go on sale throughout the year, but long weekends and shopping holidays are typically when you'll see the best deals. If you're willing to wait, Black Friday and Cyber Monday generally bring the lowest prices of the year—allowing you to save an additional 5 to 10% compared to other holidays. Another way to get a good deal on a new mattress is by shopping previous years' models. Retailers like Tempur-Pedic and MattressFirm allow you to shop discontinued (but still perfectly viable) designs for a lot less than what 2025 beds are going for. On average, foam or hybrid beds are typically more affordable than their innerspring or organic counterparts. Our sleep editors named the hybrid Allswell the best mattress in a box under $500. You can get the queen-size version of this bed for under $300. The design is definitely on the firmer side of the spectrum, but offers a neutral feel and is well-made—especially considering its modest price tag. That said, the best quality affordable mattress ultimately depends on your unique needs and preferences. For instance, although organic mattresses tend to be more expensive, sleepers with bad allergies or who are concerned with sustainability may wish to adjust their budget to accommodate those features. The Eco Terra Hybrid Latex mattress is our pick for the best value organic mattress. It has similar certifications to higher-end organic models, comes in two firmness levels and is available for under $1,000 when it's on sale. Holiday weekends often bring about great mattress sales, so January, February, May, July, August and November are some of the best months to find deals.
