DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Community members gathered in the circle city Friday to raise money for a veterans organization looking for a permanent home.

American Legion is a group that helps veterans in the area that are in need, while also providing them a place to fellowship with one another.
For the past 10 plus years, they have been without a permanent home, but through this walk and a Boston butt sale, they are looking to change that.

'This time it's actually going to happen and we are going to make it. We can't do it without community help. The community is going to have to show out here,' said Lehman Irby, Commander of American Legion Post 12.
American Legion is looking to raise between $150-175,000, which will go towards purchasing and renovating the building.
To help out you can visit their website to donate or purchase a Boston butt ticket. They are also receiving help from former Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz
