Clemson makes another huge recruiting splash landing 4-star OL Leo Delaney
Clemson makes another huge recruiting splash landing 4-star OL Leo Delaney Clemson continues to build one of the nation's top offensive line classes for 2026, this time landing a major commitment from four-star lineman Leo Delaney. According to multiple sources, Delaney has pledged to the Tigers over offers from Michigan and Penn State. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound standout from Providence Day School in Charlotte had originally planned to commit on July 11 but decided to announce early after his recent official visit to Clemson. Delaney's commitment marks the fifth offensive lineman to join the Tigers in this cycle, following fellow four-stars Braden Wilmes, Adam Guthrie, Grant Wise, and Chance Barclay. Clemson's revamped approach to recruiting in the trenches has paid off in a big way, and much of that credit goes to offensive line coach Matt Luke. Since his arrival, Luke has proven to be one of the most impactful hires Clemson could have made, quickly turning the offensive line into a true recruiting strength. Delaney is ranked No. 62 nationally, the No. 5 interior lineman, and the No. 5 player in North Carolina by 247Sports. With 16 total commits, Clemson's 2026 class now ranks among the top five in the nation — and their momentum up front continues to build. Social media reacts to Clemson's thrilling win over NC State in the 2025 ACC Tournament Clemson and NC State traded blows all night in a game that saw seven lead changes, but it was the Tigers who had the final answer. In Thursday night's ACC Tournament quarterfinal, No. 12 Clemson pulled off a 7-6 win over No. 20 NC State thanks to a relentless offensive push in the eighth. Cam Cannarella led the way with four hits, while Jacob Jarrell hit his 14th homer and added an RBI single during the Tigers' late rally. Clemson (43-15) racked up 16 hits, including five in that pivotal eighth inning, where they took control with RBI singles from Jarrell, TP Wentworth, and Andrew Ciufo. On the mound, Lucas Mahlstedt came through in relief, throwing four innings and striking out the final batter to end a 1-2-3 ninth. Jarrell, Ciufo and Dominic Listi each had two hits, while Jack Crighton added three of his own. The Tigers have now won five straight and advance to face No. 1 seed Georgia Tech in Saturday's semifinal at 1 p.m. on ACC Network. Duke drops 10 in the 7th to surge past Clemson, ties the series
Duke drops 10 in the 7th to surge past Clemson, ties the series Clemson let a five-run lead slip away in stunning fashion Saturday, as Duke scored 10 unearned runs in the seventh inning to rally past the ninth-ranked Tigers 15-10 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The win evens the pivotal ACC series at a game apiece. The Tigers (38-14, 15-11 ACC) have now lost four of their last five games and nine of the past 12. Clemson's pitching and defense fell apart in the seventh. Leading 6-5, the Tigers appeared poised to turn a routine double play, but a fielding error by Jarren Purify opened the floodgates. Duke capitalized with a barrage of two-out hits and free passes — scoring 10 runs without any being earned. In total, Clemson issued 11 walks, hit three batters, and allowed 14 base runners via free pass. Duke (34-16, 15-11 ACC) pounded out 13 hits, including four solo home runs. AJ Gracia stayed hot with two homers and two RBI, giving him three long balls in the series. Ben Rounds added a 2-for-4 performance with a homer and three RBI, while Jake Hyde delivered a key two-run single in the seventh. Clemson initially responded well after giving up a first-inning homer to Gracia. Josh Paino's three-run blast and an RBI single from Andrew Ciufo helped Clemson build a 6-1 lead by the end of the first. Luke Gaffney had three hits and two RBI, while Cam Cannarella added two hits and an RBI. But the Tigers couldn't hold the lead. A series of miscues and lack of clutch pitching in the seventh inning unraveled what had been a promising afternoon. Duke went 9-for-15 with two outs, tallying 11 two-out RBI. Clemson, meanwhile, was just 2-for-10 in those spots and struck out 15 times at the plate. Clemson tacked on four runs after the collapse, but it wasn't enough to climb back. The series finale is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. on ACCNX. Contact us @Clemson_Wire on X, and like our page on Facebook for ongoing coverage of Clemson Tigers news and notes, plus opinions.

Clemson baseball takes down Georgia in potential College World Series preview
Clemson baseball takes down Georgia in potential College World Series preview Tuesday's top five college baseball matchup between the No. 2 Clemson Tigers and No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs didn't disappoint. Not if you're a Clemson fan. The Tigers jumped on Georgia starter Charlie Goldstein early, and Clemson pitching held the nation's leader in home runs scoreless in a 3-0 shutout victory in midweek play Tuesday night at Doug Kingsmore stadium. The Tigers (36-7 overall) took advantage of Goldstein (0-2) hitting Dominic Listi with a pitch to lead off the bottom of the first inning. Clemson scored the game's first run on a two-out RBI double down the right field line by Collin Priest for a 1-0 lead. When Listi batted again in the second inning, he tripled off the glove of Devin Obee in deep center to score Luke Gaffney for a 2-0 lead. The Tigers wouldn't score again until two outs in the seventh inning. Cam Cannarella went the opposite way with his 12th double of the season, finding the gap in left-center and scoring Andrew Ciufo from first to make it 3-0. Clemson's pitching reigned supreme on this night. Five Clemson hurlers -- starter Talan Bell and relievers Jacob McGovern, TP Wentworth, Reed Garris and Lucas Mahlstedt -- combined to hold Georgia (33-10) to three hits on the night. In the ninth, Mahlstedt struck out Tre Phelps, retired Kolby Branch on a groundout, and got pinch hitter Brennan Hudson on strikes for his program-tying 15th save in 18 appearances this season. Mahlstedt tied Nick Glaser's 2000 mark for most saves and lowered his ERA to 1.08 in 33 1/3 innings this season. The right-hander's 15 saves lead NCAA baseball. McGovern (3-0) got the win in relief. The Tigers outhit the Bulldogs, 7-3, and allowed just seven Georgia batters to reach base. Clemson was 4-of-10 at the plate with two outs. The Tigers improved to 12-1 in midweek games. Clemson will head to Raleigh to face No. 25 NC State (27-12 overall, 12-6 ACC) for a three-game series beginning Thursday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ACC Network. Contact us @Clemson_Wire on X, and like our page on Facebook for ongoing coverage of Clemson Tigers news and notes, plus opinions
